Dre's first new album in 16 yrs "dropped" last night. Can't imagine it will be anything but a disappointment. NWA movie however looks like it may be entertaining (not necessarily good).

always amazes me how such great athletes get so fat after their playing days. have some pride, hop on a tredmill or stair master a few times per week.

I am not amazed at all. That's exactly what happens when you go from structured diet and fitness to no structure. I too would eat like crap and do no exercise after 25 years of not having that luxury.

i guess, but they were in shape for decades and im sure they felt much better then than now. Barkley can barely walk. he is 51 and having both hips done.

To be fair, Barkley was never the most in shape athlete either.

Are you implying his hips are bad because of his weight?

Because the guy played 39,330 minutes of professional basketball in the regular season and another 4,800 in the post season. That may have a whole hell of a lot more to do with having bad hips than being fat for a decade or so.

Lets not forget that while these guys are in incredible shape, their jobs impose incredible harm onto their bodies.

Also - most people get fatter when they hit the age that athletes retire at.

The most noticeable fat retired athletes are:
1. running backs - they're usually short guys with lots of muscle packed on small frames. that build doesn't look good when you stop exercising and slap a layer of fat on top of it. best example: Duce Staley
2. nba big men - their knees are pulverized and they spend most of their time in a wheelchair. best example: Pat Ewing

I'd say the biggest swing in post-playing physique is defensive and offensive linemen. When they are done eating/lifting/injecting steriods, they either shrink (Micahel Strahan) or baloon like crazy.

Quiddich outer swoopers and Kronum off-backs seem to gain weight around the mid section very quickly after retiring. But they still have no problem scoring some serious pu$$y.

It's like women who retire from baby making. They tend to become unrecognizable once they retire their uteruses (uteri?).
