Darren Sproles

I remember arguing for his excellent value, and there was more than one person who thought it was a stupid trade.

Couldnt have been Joanie. I mean dude knows absolutely, positively fk'n everything!

Bmoney must be going apeshit on twitter right now.

Earlier this week is was the Dolphins will go (4-0) against a crappy NFC East. Well, the NFC may indeed be crappy, we will see, but when the Dolphins become so special? Delusional. And Tannehill is marginal at best. Middle of the pack QB in this league.

I was joking, you dunce. most of my friends are either Giants or Eagles fans.

it clearly worked because it got you worked up.

you don't watch the games so don't tell me what Tannehill is or isn't. I also never claimed him to be some
elite QB either.

Worked up? I don't think so. My only reply was "unlikely."

What do you mean I don't watch games? I watch the Eagles every week. If they're not playing then I'll watch red zone or something. I watch Sunday/Monday/Thursday night football enough of the time. All 60 minutes intently? Not always. Depends.

Just because I'm not in 7 fantasy leagues doesn't mean I don't watch the games.

you don't watch the DOLPHINS games. didn't think I needed to spell that out.

I'm actually in 2 leagues this year, thank you. again, sorry that chaps your ass so much.

Father of the year.

unlike some posters, when i'm wrong i didn't have the luxury of having it lost in a veritable mountain of past misdiagnoses.

"every nba team would take blake griffin over anthony davis". congratulate yourself on marcus smith again. what a limb you went out on there. you gutless, pathetic, clueless schmuck

sproles may actually be a disaster for the eagles, since by winning them four or five games he's probably extended charles durning's regime. that fat smug fraud. agholor, austin and cooper have to be the worst #2-4 wideouts in the league. terrible offense.

Ohh, so you have to watch every minute of every Dolphins game to have an opinion? Got it.

If that's the case then no one can basically have opinion about anything sports related because no one watches every thing.

I do agree with this part, though I expect that if we went through other rosters could come up with some arguments, wouldn't be easy. And the fact that Matthews plays the slot makes it so easy for the other team to defend, single up outside with no help, those guys can't get separation. Agholor could develop still, but too much to have a rookie as your best outside receiver, Beckam Jr. types who light it up right away as rookies are few and far between.

By the way, why can't Ryan Matthews catch an easy ball more than half the time? I thought he was supposed to be a decent receiver. He caught the TD yesterday thankfully, but has at least one or two horrific drops per game. Spoiled after years of Byars, Staley, Westbrook, McCoy, all outstanding receiving backs.

Bradford has been bad too, including yesterday. At least 30% of his completed throws were off target yesterday (and 50% completions overall--a few bad drops didn't help admittedly), at least two should have been picks dropped, throws too high or behind people over the middle. All the more reason to move Matthews outside more, Matthews is going to get his head taken off in there.

I've defended the Eagles/Kelly and predicted they'd win this game. However, what has amazed me (Lowry touches above) is how bad Bradford looks. He's been terrible. His pocket awareness is as bad as any QB I've seen in a while. He doesn't stand in there and push the ball down the field. He's got happy feet. On another note, thanks to Nick Foles for being his terrible self yesterday. He gift-wrapped the Steelers a W with his terrible play. He stinks so the Birds aren't missing anything.

I honestly think Sanchez would be doing a better job running the offense. At least he was moving the chains last year and was able to get the ball down field. Bradford has been terrible!

Bradford hasn't been good, but not ready to write him off just yet. The offense has struggled and everyone has had a handin it at one point or another. The OL inconsistent, drops, and play-calling hasn't been anything to write home about. Fortunately, there are only 3-4 really good teams in the NFL, so you hope they can right the ship some and become a factor as the season moves along.

Like you would know anything on this subject. Beat it.

Will the burrs write off first: Bradford, Hinkie, or Embiid?

Bradford, Embiid........................................................Hinkie.

In the interest of brightsiding, even if they were playing the Jets and Fitzpatrick (worse than I realized by the way, his arm makes Foles look like he has a cannon) down some key players, the Eagles D is starting to develop an identity, seem to have come together having to be on the field for so long vs. Dallas, seem to like playing together. Playing a little nasty, especially on the line, and Hicks brings some of that too, adding Kendricks and/or Alonso back would make the front seven fairly legit. And they had Maxwell playing a little more naturally yesterday, up on the line. Seem like they will continue to generate turnovers.

If the offensive line can gel as maybe they started to yesterday, allow them to run the ball and the offense can perform reasonably well, maybe Agholor develops, that's the path to tallest midget in the NFC East. If Bradford gets his head on straight, could be the upside that people saw earlier, but my expectations there are curbed for now.

Umm, when the 2nd surgery and another lost season was announced I clearly said that I have no expectations for Embiid moving forward. If he eventually plays and does well, then that's great. But I'm no longer counting on that.

Bradford has basically missed 2 seasons and has only played 3 games this year. I think we can pump the brakes on declaring him anything at this point.

Hinkie's tenure will end one day. Not sure when that will be, but at that time it will be clear for all to see how things went.

I don't do writing off in sports, whether good or bad. It's not life or death. It's fun and entertaining.sometimes things turn out worse than expected. Sometimes things turn out better.

So is Embiid a bust? Or is he a good pick?

So is Embiid a bust? Or is he a good pick?

As of now a bust and with that how can the pick be considered good. With that said, I still believe it was the right pick at the time and I would have done the same thing. IMO, he was best player in draft, with the most upside. The other two players close to him were already gone. Only a no-nothing troll would fall short on understanding this dynamic.

I am sure lowry99 will say yes.

Yeah, I'd say you could pick a three game stretch for Foles last year that included the SF game (last game I can remember where the offense was almost as bad as vs. Dallas last week) and they'd look about the same to what Bradford has done. Similar to Bradford at ATL, Foles had multiple games early last year where he was horrible or mediocre for a half, and decent or good for half. Like Bradford, Foles was turning it over at least twice a game early last year.

He also had Maclin who made a real difference IMO, got separation all year and was easy to throw to, I tend to think Bradford would have been comfortable trusting him to come down with it in a way he would not trust Agholor or Cooper.

Bradford's QB rating for first three games is collectively 215.9 when you add all three up. Foles' 3-game stretch beginning with SF game last year totaled 207.5.

Try Again:
Win, 325 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT
SFO Game
Win, 207 Yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT
27-0 Win, 248 Yrds, 2 TDs, 1 INT

Or not, I'll try the three game stretch with SFO I was thinking of:

SFO game: 0 TD, 2 INT, 195 yards, 4.5 yds/att, 42.3 rating
St. Louis: 2 TD, 1 INT, 1 lost fumble, 207 yds, 5.7 yds/att, 86.2 rating
NYG: 2 TD, 2 INT, 248 yds, 7.3 yds/att, 79.0 rating

I really didn't like giving up a 2nd rounder in addition to Foles for Bradford, and if they didn't do the deal on that basis and decided to give him another try I'd have been ok with it, but watching Foles last year (and before) I really don't think he'd be markedly better with this cast. He's also been mediocre overall in three games this year in St. Louis, again not taking care of the ball, and forcing things at times because he can't make all the throws. Maybe Bradford will figure it out this year, maybe he won't, but was worth a shot.

Foles was 6-2 last year. Is bradford going to win his next 5 to match that?

Not sure.

But actually, Foles was (5-2) he left the HOU game with score tied 7-7. Oh yea, his INT was returned for a HOU TD. Sanchez won that game.

I was never a Foles basher. He was ok. His skill set wasn't overwhelming, tho.

the problem with Bradford is that he is a literal statue back there. NEVER moves around in the pocket.

I'm not asking him to be Mike Vick but sheesh, move around at least a little bit

In keeping with the OP, my recollection is that the Eagles special teams and defense scored a lot of touchdowns last year that bailed them out in multiple games despite mediocre play on offense and defense at times. He also had a FG kicker who didn't miss a single kick in the games he played. Without that, no way Foles would have been 5-2 in games he started and finished.

Bradford benefited from a Sproles TD yesterday -- but if Parkey was playing now like he did last year at this time, they're 2-1 right now.
