Anyone play? If so what are your thoughts on breakouts, busts, sleepers, and rookies?

This is year 2 without for me. And I half-assed the final year. You lose touch with current rosters pretty quickly. I had no idea who Jake Arrieta was until September.
This is mainly what I'm worried about. I won't be able to follow what's going on in all of baseball, especially the NL. I'll probably revert back to knowing about the Yankees and Red Sox, and that's it.

Knowing all all these different players is part of what I like about it. I'm in a long term keeper league and everyone takes it seriously, so no one gives up. Guys might make a decision to trade players for picks and prospects, but we still have a losers bracket at the end to recoup a little something.

It's not the end of the world. Knowing the Astros backup 2B's weekly OPS splits doesn't improve your quality of life. You can keep on top of it with a little effort. Just peruse some box scores and leaderboards occasionally.

Easiest way to keep up with baseball:

1. MLB At Bat app. It's free and you can link it up with an MLB.tv account if you want ($$) to watch non home market games. But the free content is great. You can see highlights from the games
2. MLB Network - best sports programming on TV. Quick Pitch is a must for game recaps, they basically take all the highlights that are in MLB At Bat and play them there

The only way to do a fantasy baseball league properly is a daily league. But it's entirely too much work. Weekly leagues are like pissing in the wind if you're playing for real money. There's way too much flux with rain outs that wreak havoc on winning and losing your week and there's nothing you can do to counteract it in a weekly league. It's why I stopped playing. Daily is too time consuming. Weekly is too luck driven.

I play in a daily league and it literally takes maybe 5 - 10 minutes a day. I adjust my starting lineup in the morning then double check it in the evening. Take a look at FA's for maybe a few minutes. Read an article on the shitter about prospects. Not a ton of time needed.
