Just woke up this morning and see he lost to ALBERT RAMOS in the Shanghai Masters. Was so shocked to see the score I had to check another outlet to confirm it was even real. Odds for this were so large they were almost off the board. Didn't see match but imagine he played really awful tennis. Cue the "old overnight?" articles that will be popping up on the interwebs.

Yup. It happens to the best unfortunately.

Lost units?

Line was so outrageous a wager couldn't be considered. Let's not pretend Novak would lose this sort of match tho. Let's be real.

Professionals in individual sports can lose to other professionals, particularly in a non-major that probably means very little to a man who has reached the pinnacle.

One previous meeting. A 6-1 6-1 6-1 Federer win.

Ramos career vs top 10. 0-15. Lost all 36 sets played.

Oh yes this ranks up there with the biggest shocks in the history of the sport. Definitely top 5 all time. It's not like this was some schlub bottom level event. This was a million dollar Masters series event which are the next biggest to the majors. Federers loss to Stakhovsky at Wimbledon is probably #1 tho. Odds wise definitely. He was -11,000 in that match.

This. Federer has said recently that he avoids burning out and still loves the tour because he enjoys the travel, spending time in the various cities all over the world. So, for him now playing tennis in these locales is really secondary, outside of the majors and the prep tourneys. These are almost like exhibition games I would think, especially three months or so from the next major. He's going to decline eventually but no reason to think this is it.

Do you honestly care if we care?
No, I don't just surprised we are talking about some match in China. I would understand if it was a major or the tournament before the major, or even any match in the USA.

But again, I like soccer, so I can watch a friendly between the US and Aruba and I should be able to post it on here with no comments.

Personally, I have no issue if someone creates a post about soccer, bowling, cheerleading or things of that ilk.
