Wow.

Nothing like a game 7 in the NHL Playoffs. This game is unbelievable. I'm a Flyers fan and I can't miss a second of this game.

NHL Playoffs > NCAA tourney > NFL playoffs > NBA playoffs > MLB playoffs

Fact.

Don't care who wins this game as long as they beat Tampa Bay. No team from a city that doesn't have naturally occurring ice should be allowed to play for the Cup. Too many have already won it (LA, TB, Anaheim)

bounces RIGHT to him. knew Caps wouldnt take it after they had that 2 minutes of sustained pressure and couldnt score

Great series - high level hockey. Next round has chance to be off the chart on both sides of the bracket. 4 best teams all year still in it. #goofysport

Chris Kreider is the new top of my scumbag list[/QUOTE

Curious statement. Still think he runs goalies after he beats dmen? What is scum bag about him? That he's 6'3 235 and plays with it? The goal to start game 6? That he doesn't back down? That he drives the net? He's not dirty really. He takes it and he gives it. Really becoming a good player. Key player for them at this point. Maybe top 3 fast in league.

NHL Playoffs are exhilirating and really fun to watch - just wish hockey and basketball didn't have playoffs during the same time of year. Creates an unnecessary amount of pissing contests between bros at bars.

I do wish ESPN would provide some kind of hockey insight deeper than "the capitals have won 3 of 7 Game 7s since 1990" and "they're all on the same page it seems". Hard to find real analysis anywhere. Obviously the NBA on TNT studio guys aren't analytical geniuses, but they at least give you something other than "effort" and "toughness"

Is a Game 7 OT win in the 2nd Round more sibling call worthy than a no hitter?

Discuss

I would've much rather had the Mets win last night than the Rangers. Thad said, good for Dmil -- highly doubt anyone would've known what he was talking about if he called to talk about the win.

Cant wait for the series decider to bounce in off someones back.

Are rangers good enough to win it all? Or do we have to wait to see who wins to answer that?

If they are good enough to win it all, they will win it all. Pretty simple. Helluva road ahead. Would have to go through Crosby/Malkin, Ovechkin/Backstrom, Stamkos and lastly Toews/Kane or Perry/Getzlaf.

Tougher road is ahead. TB might be the better version of them. Very deep, very skilled. Still in it though.

This will probably be the first time a potential Cup winner had to go thru teams with two great players on each. Unique year, I guess.

Rangers were best team in the league. Anything less than a Cup is a choke. No other way around it.

Well played counter schtick. CapTip

100% true. 3 wins, 5 pts and 9 nine goals separate these two teams after 7 months of hockey. Huge choke no matter how you slice it. That's obvious.

Yep. Plus, home ice throughout playoffs. Can only be considered a choke if the cup isn't won. No other way to look at it.

Hey, the Phillies' "choked" in '09 when they lost to a team that had ten more wins than them and three other teams had more RS wins.

That's why I agreed with you and said it was obvious.

I thought they chocked in 2010 when they won 100+ games, blew a huge lead in the playoffs and lost in the first round to the Cards?

If I was a nouveau Nationals fan, I would have pointed out how many injuries the Phillies overcame in '09. But I wouldn't do that because the Phils didn't lose in the first round every year, and weren't focused on gilding the lilly by bolstering regular season accopmlishments, or records as of Memorial Day weekend.

Speaking of that, Mets seemingly insurmountable NL East lead down to 1.5. Still hunkered down for a long season of pitched battle with los Mets adp?

TO machine Braydon Coburn can't win a Cup with TB. Please God no.

He's played really well so far. Hope that changes under some better pressure. Montreal cant score really. Not a lot of offensive depth there so they don't really apply sustained pressure and Coburn didn't seem to see too much of Galchenyuk or Pacioretty - Hedman got them whenever possible. And Hedman was outstanding. Series is going to be fast as all hell.

O/U for total games in the three remaining series? 18.5? I expect all three to be really good, as these are four excellent teams.

Rangers continue to shine and the Caps lead by Alex "the guaranteed" Ovechkin come up short again. This team blows way too many leads in series to be taken seriously. New coach and new GM but the core of the team lead by Ovi continue to come up small in big spots.

Chris Kreider is turning into to one of the best power forwards in the game and this season was over for the Rangers unless he gets that huge goal in game 5 with a little more than a minute to go.

no hes not.

dMil- if you have to ask, I'm not even going to bother

I aks because there is literally no evidence. You watch a series with Brook Orpik and you come out with Kreider being a scum bag??? I'd like an explanation of some sort. It's utterly unwarranted really. Protypical power forward. Not a dirty player, even if he mixes it up. We're not talking Claude Lemieux or Matt Cook here.

Actually, he kind of is. Not quite there yet, but close. Has it all.

hes played ~200 games or so including the playoffs. he is what he is at this point, a nice middle 6 winger with good speed and size. but lets not go crazy.

some Rangers fans friends talk about him like the next coming.

So still no example of him being a scum bag? Guy who has never been suspended or even fined?

You hate the Rangers. I get that. But see it for what it is. He goes 6'3 240 and is ridiculously fast. Ridiculously. He's now a 20 goal guy, hits, takes a punch and is a top 6 forward on any team in the NHL. And he's 24. Prototypical power forward getting better and just hitting his stride. And Kevin Hayes is not far behind him.

Still waiting for some kind of example of why he is a scumbag. No more reckless than 2 dozen other players. In fact, he's not reckless enough.

240 lbs? Seems like a stretch. Not even sure why he want to play at that weight. I guess he's on the same weigh-lifting plan as Mo Sutton.

I think B$ Is a bit over the top with the scumbag reference. He's run a few goalies along the way, but not sure that should evoke the scumbag label.

Also, the definition of "power forward" has changed over time, huh? I enjoyed the days of Shanahan, Roberts, Tkachuk, Neely, etc where PF meant 40-50 goals and 150-200 PIM. Those were definitely good times.
