GOP Field is Trumped!

I don't think the Trump Organization has ever gone bankrupt. The casino company (which he only owns a minority share in) has gone bankrupt a few times, but I don't think there can be any doubt that the parent company is in good shape.

Making money in a boom/bust economy involves taking risks, and sometimes those risks pay off.

Well

Liz, I don't buy the left's constant condemnation of the rich. It's both hypocritical and not true. If Hillary can run around saying she wants to be the champion of the little guy then Trump can certainly brag about his wealth. At least Trump isn't lying/pandering.
That's fine and I agree, but you said being rich should be everyone's goal in life. You really believe that?

Considering the alternative, poverty, I can't imagine anyone wanting to opt for that, Liz. Of course there are some notable exceptions like the clergy, military, etc. I think human nature drives people in the direction of improving their lives which goes hand in hand with earning more money. As long as you live your life by this simple rule "give all you can and take only what you need" there's nothing wrong with or to be ashamed of in the accumulation of wealth.

Not really into this stuff, but I did catch some of Trump's act this morning on GMA. Little Georgie S. was grilling him on how he would rid the world of ISIS. The back and forth was entertaining. Donald kept telling George that you'll have to wait because if I say it now then the enemy will also know. His tone was funny. I'm hoping for more of this.

You're talking to a man that has been referred to as the mini-Donald Trump of the South. TJC Holdings has at times included: a bakery, mortgage company, condo flipping business, a fleet of Mercury Mariners, a restaurant in Maine, lofts in Manhattan, a substitute teaching consultancy practice, a flight attendant bail bond/shuttle service.

"A flight attendant bail bond/shuttle service"

More good comedy here. I approve. Cap tip.

I'm glad there are exceptions. I was starting to think that I needed to change my goal in life.

I'm not so sure there are exceptions that Fiscally Conservative Republicans like myself are okay with. If you want a living where you aren't willing to beg borrow and steal to claw ahead of the competition, go live in some wussy socialist country.

If you think this is the way it works I feel bad for you

Agree, being a complete d!ck in business does work for some, but for many it backfires hideously.

If you buy the customer friendly veneer that has been painted on corporate capitalism over the last 20 years, I feel bad for you.
It's quotes like this that prompted my comment a couple of weeks ago that you seemed like a union guy who's been crapped on by the man. You really seem to live in a black and white world.

You left out real estate business. The difference between Trump and me is that I'm a much more likeable guy:) (and I use more smiley faces)

Most of your viewpoints are very absolute. Things are either this way or that way rather than nuanced. Wasn't accusing you of being Johnny Gentile.

If someone's opinion on something is the opposite of mine, it is clear they only think in absolutes - while I have thought about it way more in depth than they have

Capitalism is the best system we have. Unfortunately some people take advantage of it and ruin it for the rest of us.

I have never been screwed by "the man", I just know a lot of terrible humans who do well financially and enjoy high status. And it's not just hyperbole - you and I know these people. No system is perfect but to not acknowledge the flaws only encourages further imperfections.

Agreed Snottie. The problem is trying to have an honest discussion about the flaws in such a highly charged political environment with such polarization among different groups of people.

Were you just dooring people to get a few more patients for your healthcare clients? Or was it strictly for recreation?
strictly recreation. My rates are too high for my clients to enlist my help in drumming up business. They save me for the important stuff.

I wasn't suggesting that they would employ you as a lowly street thug. But rather your bumping a few old ladies on your way back to the suburbs would just be a cap tip and a thank you for their continued patronage. When you show up to your next sit-down with mangled walkers and orthopedic shoes stuck in your grill, they'll know you believe in them.

My guys aren't really on that side of things. They do stuff like cure cancer and heart disease etc....you know, the real dregs of society who ensure people live longer, healthier lives. However, we do represent the med device guys as well. I'm sure they'll support that approach. Good news, we usually just rely on Democrats to keep these people down and then give them government healthcare so we're all good.

They can't pump their new cure$ into those old fuddy duddies if they don't visit the doctor early and often. Some of the stubborn ones need a nudge.

Free healthcare, they'll visit regardless. Go Obama!!!
