How many friends do you have?

Let's see..........after excluding bench warmers.........I'd say, I have enough.....also have great kids and family.
Better question would be what's the first moment that comes to your head when you think of a time when a true friend bailed you out of a sh*tty situation.

3 guys from middle school/high school era, probably 5 to 8 from Nova, and probably 10 to 15 more from work and church. I might not see some of them more than once or twice a year, but I could still call them up in a jam, and they would be there, no questions asked.

there is no girl that i would jump in front of a bus for unless i was getting or have the possibility of getting laid. i never got the friends with girls thing. if im friends with a girl that means i like her and want to bang her. if you cant bang them whats the use or being friends with them?

Any girl I call a "good" friend fits into one of these categories:
1) I wanted to hook up with her at one point, but realized it's not going to happen.
2) I hooked up with at one point, but both parties decided it would be better off as friends.
3) I secretly still want to hook up with, but they are in relationships and I can respect that.

I think you missed a category but it may be a subset of 2.
4) When I'm drunk she's always available to hook up with even though she knows nothing more will ever come of it. Sometimes I take her out for breakfast the next morning because I feel guilty
I'd agree with #4, though I don't usually treat for breakfast because I feel like that's more awkward than not (unless it's buying a couple bagel sandwiches while she sleeps in). I get up insanely early every day (between 4:30-5:30) even on weekends, so usually I have some time to kill.
i agree any guy who has girls as friends is secretly in love with her and/or wants to bang her, there is no such thing as just a friend.
You can have friends, but I'm just saying it's not unusual that you've either hooked up with them at some point (or wanted to). We're also talking about "good" girl friends, not just acquaintances.
So your saying you have a female friend who you are as close to as any of the male friends you have and have never once thought about wanting to bang? I think thats bizarre or creepy. Sounds like a gay dude.

I'm with TMJ 100%. I have at least 8 close girl friends amongst 2 different friend groups who I have never tried to make out with or anything like that. Of course I find some of them attractive but if you're around someone a lot you don't make creepy moves.
It's good to have girls to go to the bar with as opposed to showing up with 5 bros. Easier to get in and you don't seem like a creep to other girls. Plus, girls, believe it or not, can be funny and carry a conversation. Think it's much weirder if you can't talk to a woman without expecting some kind of sexual result. This isn't middle school

Having said that - i can see if you're married not having girl friends. You have enough female input. In single life though they are a valuable part of your life and often the best way to meet new women if you don't want to play the online dating games or the get browned out on a weekend night and try to bang whatever you come across - that gets old
