Is it difficult? Mine crapped out and I need to replace it. It's impossible to tell from online reviews whether anyone can do it or whether you need to be Bob Vila.

I'm talking about one of those over the range models.

Not difficult provided its the correct size. Should come with all required hardware and instructions. You can probably pop open a pdf of them online to see if the level of difficulty lines up with your skill set.

Not hard but would recommend and extra set of hands to hold it in place while you secure it.

It's a whole lot easier if you get a microwave where the bracket is self contained and mounts to the wall and the underside of the cabinet. Then you just slide the microwave into the bracket. Don't forget to plug it in first!

.that's nothing.........we had major tragedy........our Keurig coffee maker croaked.....only 3 years old. Had to clean off our old Mister Coffee and get some filters and loose coffee.....Awful waiting 10-12 minutes for that cup of joe.......Checking Amazon for a deal on the replacement.

Our microwave died a few months back. Never replaced it. Don't miss it at all.

Don't most coffee machines allow you to pour a cup "in-brew"?

I've actually witnessed two people in the last two months that didn't know this feature *ever* existed; and one was the owner of the coffee machine! She screamed at me in horror as I removed the pot, only to be amazed that coffee wasn't spilling all over the place.

The problem with pouring a cup mid brew is that you're stealing strength from the rest of the pot. Coffee coming out of the filter gets weaker as the pot fills up so you're taking the strong stuff out of the pot leaving only the weak coffee for everyone else.

That's absolutely true which is why I do it and try to be first!

I have a Sunbeam that brews a single cup without using those individual coffee baskets. It has a washable metal drain so you don't need paper filters. It's great. 1 scoop per cup.

Update on this: Got a guy coming today to install my new over the range microwave. I took a look at it -- no way I was doing that myself.

I was afraid I would have ruined the wall and the kitchen cabinets above. I do that, now I got more problems. I'm terrible at this stuff.

So you went two months without a microwave?

No. The only buttons that did work were the 1,5, and 9. So we could heat stuff for some variation of those #'s. The usual play was to start everything for 1 min and 59 seconds and just open the door early if needed.

Sounds like when the brakes don't work and you just slow down enough to let the person to jump out.

Dude, I'm not a bit mechanically inclined but installing a microwave above the range is pretty easy. I'm a bit disappointed in you.

No it isn't.

It's easy if you've done it 50x.

The guy was funny. Eerily similar to Jim Carey in Cable Guy. He frequently criticized the person who installed the old microwave. Literally everything about it was "wrong." Also lectured me for 15 mins about the exhaust pipe or whatever it's called.

Just replaced a 9 year old microwave. It's a 2 man job. Bracket held MW in place but cabinet screws were off by about 3/4 ". It was impossible for one person, this person anyway....

Freddy, you going to hire someone to replace your heating - air conditioning filter? That can be tricky.
