Fowler exploded already. Spieth looking strong.

For some reason this DeChambeau kid just rubs me the wrong way. Seems like a dick for some reason.

I thought they had to get rid of the long putter already? Langer is out there with one still.

The rule is anchored - not length. If the grip end isn't placed into the body of the player it's still legal. Lanhger has been using a lot of putters this year as he had to switch from his anchored stroke.

Speith played with that amateur, and Jordan said great things about the kid and his game.

With Spieth now at -7 after 1 hole I think only a handful are still in contention to beat him:

Rose -3
Day -1
McIlroy -1
Lefty - E
Stenson - E

This is boring. Spieth running away with it.

Too many europeans on the leaderboard for my liking. Reminds me of this:

Is Watson playing with a ball that has soccer ball colored panels on it? Very odd.

Spieth REALLY scrambling right now and great recovery by McIlroy on 18 to stay at 3 under

Hogan isn't in it; I'll go with a sub-par Speith .

You can twist yourself in knots with that book. You'll be thinking about flying wedges, horizontal hinging, number three pressure point. It is a really tough read. I'm not sold on Bryson yet.

Fun finish.

Speeth is probably the most boring super star i can remember. I was saying that even before he chunked his second shot in the drink on 12.

At the end with the dont take pictures of my face comments? Just a wierdo. I might start rooting against him.

I don't think he is boring at all, and even with his fantastic start to his career he might be a bit young
to call him a super star. He is not a classic swinger, and he must find a way to keep it from going
right on bad swings. Hell, it took Hogan twelve years to get his ball from going left. In addition, he appears
to be a super young man.

I disagree, he's boring. I like him, i like his swing, I root for him, and I think he'll be able to shake this off and win another major very soon. That being said, he's boring. His personality is middle of the road, he's super consistent when he plays...I mean you'll never see him bomb one 350, hit a 2 iron screamer, or smoke a 5 iron out of bunker over water to within a few feet for birdie, its just not how he plays. He goes out makes consistent shots, makes us all jealous with his short game, and putts the hell out of the ball. The casual golf fan wants the Tiger sunday charge or the Phil Mickelson personality/creativity. Jordan is just not that type of player.

An entertaining 50 minutes on the back 9 when Spieth collapsed, but man was that a dull Masters. Day was clearly fighting himself all week, Scott was a dud, Spieth was great...then not so much, and Willet didn't even really have time to make a run. Aside from Spieth being 2 back on 16, there really wasn't much to watch.

You don't see a collapse like that very often. Especially closing out the front 9 with birdie-birdie-birdie-birdie and a 5-stroke lead. In just three holes - bogey-bogey-QUAD - Spieth went from a commanding 5-stroke lead to three BACK? That doesn't happen, should never happen.

Ian O'Connor wrote that it was the most shocking collapse in golf history (ESPN)

Spieth was going to become the youngest player in the Masters era to have claimed three majors. He was going to become the game's first back-to-back, wire-to-wire major winner. He was going to win a second Masters in his third appearance after it took Tiger Woods seven appearances to win his second, and after it took Jack Nicklaus and Palmer six appearances to win their second.

At 22, Spieth was going to match the number of green jackets won by Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Seve Ballesteros and Tom Watson. He was going to join Woods, Nicklaus and Faldo as the only players to win two consecutive Masters, and he was going to become the first Masters champion since World War II to have overcome at least three double-bogeys.

You know what people would've said about Jordan Spieth if he did all that, don't you? They would've said Spieth could someday surpass Nicklaus' six Masters titles and become the greatest Augusta National player of all time.

We all know abut the finish, but the people in charge of the telecast have gone overboard. It is a golf tournament--not a religious experience. Read Michael Bamburger's book On Green which takes some whacks at The Masters and many other places
and people.
