Anything good coming out this fall? The wife and I have been struggling to find new shows to watch since Breaking Bad and Mad Men ended. Our current lineup is pretty weak, and we are not following anything currently except House of Cards, which always ends up just being a weekend-long binge and then waiting many months for the next season to come out.

We tried to get into The Americans, but gave up halfway through the first season because it was terrible. I understand it got a lot better, but by then it was too late for us. We also took a crack at American Horror Story, but it was too weird. If I have to watch one more episode of Chopped, I'm going to lose it.

Leftovers doesn't sound like it would be for you, but the first season was interesting and the second season has been good to very good.

The trailer for Aziz Ansari's new show looks promising but I'm worried its a trailer that shows all the funny parts.

The Knick and Fargo are on my list of shows to catch up on.

Nothing. There is nothing. Watch Homeland from the beginning on Netflix if you're looking for a time killer.

Network TV is awful. Walking Dead continues to be the only show I can't wait to see.

I liked the first season of Daredevil on Netflix, and they have a new Marvel-connected show in November that is supposed to be pretty dark called Jessica Jones with David Tennant as bad guy Mr. Purple and Krysten Ritter as the title character . No idea about the comic storyline but the cast looks solid.

Been watching the Bastard Executioner on FX and for the gore factor alone its pretty entertaining. Like Sons of Anarchy it gets better the longer I watch it.

Since 24 is done I dont even bother watching any network TV shows at this point. Not even for an episode or 2. I know my interest will fizzle as the shows end up being so damn tame and conservative, I just cant get into it. Some people love them tho. Some people being women.

I was just thinking this morning that it's gotten to the point that there is really nothing that originally airs on any night other than Sunday, at any time of the year, that is worth watching outside of sports and documentaries.

I'm guessing that the new X-Files mini-series will come on Sundays as well. I'll watch that.

Speaking of 24, it's being rebooted without Kiefer. Sounds terrible.

Daredevil was great and I expect Jessica Jones to be as well. The storyline is rather brutal, as David Tenant's character can make people do whatever he wants. In the comics, he rapes Jessica Jones so I'm curious to see if they follow through with that. Also this upcoming season of Daredevil features the Punisher.

Penny Dreadful is pretty good.

I've gotten into the Affair. Solid thus far and the lady will like it.

Very solid. I enjoy it. Downside is the Mrs. will want to install a GPS up your ass and demand all your passwords after a few viewings.

They are making an x-files that is coming out in 2016.

The new Fargo is gr8, except for the story line.

gr8 acting, gr8 cableitography, gr8 music...
Agreed, spg. I watched 2 episodes and then quit watching. On network TV, I think both The Blacklist and How to Get Away with Murder are good.

Just started watching Fargo. Caught first ep of S2. Promising. Will continue to watch. I take it I dont need to have watched Season 1? Or do I? Doesnt seem like it.

Season 1 was really good, gdog. You might want to watch it.

Homeland gaining excellent traction now. A slow burn to start but now heating up again. They never dissapoint.

As for Fargo S1, do I have to watch it to understand plot points of S2 or is it entirely new stuff this season? I'll probably only go back and watch S1 if I need to know stuff pertaining to S2. If S2 is a stand alone I won't bother. Seems to me that this season has nothing or little do with last year.

Homeland never disappoints?

I haven't watched Fargo but I think the events of S2 happen before the first season so I assume you don't need to watch S1, save for "ah ha" moments which are set up's to events in S1 (similar to Better Call Saul-when is that coming back?).

Netflix Originals -
Bloodline
Narcos
Daredevil

Streaming options -
Sons of Anarchy (best show on TV in my opinion, Breaking Bad is #2 to it)
True Detective season 1
Homeland

Anyone seen Tyrant? I want to get into that.

Love him or hate him, this show is a great, great production each week. If you enjoy food and travel, as I do, it's "must see" tv.

Best hour on TV right now. Had some overly-produced ones last year, but has been hitting the mark lately. The one on Iran last season was gr8. The reporter that he hung out with was sent to prison.
Everyone with Netflix should watch the astounding movie "Beasts of No Nation."

Love AB, we get him it in London, thank god bc TV here blows (Made in Chelsea is no The Hills). Slingbox on the way!

I watched both seasons of Tyrant and thought it was excellent.
