At the end of the Notre Dame - UConn game today it was announced that CBS sports was showing a Big East doubleheader on Tuesday night with the Nova-Marquette game to be aired at 9:00 EST. Let's hope the ladies put on a good show against a beatable opponent. Then it's UConn at home on Saturday, Penn the following Tuesday and then off to Notre Dame. A tough stretch coming up.

WOW, what a kid in the friggin Balls!!!

The ending was a downer all right, but in retropect it was a game they deserved to lose. For the fourth straight game now the team showed no ability to take advantage of multiple opportunities to take a lead, extend a lead or maintain a lead. Marquette scored exactly one bucket and two foul shots from the 3:20 mark of the first half to the 9:30 mark of the second half and the best that Nova could do was take a five point lead. They immediately gave that right back by allowing Marquette to score 10 straight points on five trips down the floor.

Roberts missed foul shot was key, but this game should have been won eight minutes earlier and Marquette nowhere to be seen at the end. Four games in a row we have let a team hang around until the end and wound up losing three of them. Our next two Big East games are against the number two and three ranked teams in the nation and our team is shellshocked right now. It would seem like we have a breather in the middle of those two with the Penn game, but a much improved Quaker team could put our team into a real funk for the rest of the season. All kinds of opportunities were available for this team after the start they had, now we very quickly could have our backs up against the wall again.

I cannot imagine the tough trip home they must have had from Milwaukee. The look on Harry and Dean's faces aafter the game as they sat awaiting the team to come out of the locker room after the game showed how emotionally drained they were. Let's hope the ship gets righted just a bit to put up a fight against UConn this weekend.
