The Wildcats hit threes early and often, never trailed and won by 25. Lauren Burford found her stroke and finished with a career tying 19 points on 6 of 9 from beyond the arc. Caroline Coyer and Rachel Roberts added 13 points apiece and Laura Sweeney had 12 points.

Team shot over 50% in total and over 51% in their 15 made three balls, but only 5 of 10 on free throws; go figure. Fifteen turnovers kept the game from truly being a total rout. As anticipated, Jessica Wamala finally got her shot to go, nailing a three in the final minute to get in the career scorebook for Nova.

Team wins Lady Runnin' Rebel Tournament. All tournament team and MVP to be provided shortly. 4-1 on the season with the real home opener on Thursday against Lehigh and the Big Five opener against LaSalle on Sunday.

Go Wildcats!

Update: Rachel Roberts and Laura Sweeney made the all-Tournament team with Sweeney named MVP

Yeah, I will be there with wife in tow. I guaranteed her a win, so the girls better deliver! Will look forward to seeing you, but may not get there until game time.

This team has possibilities. Still some offensive droughts, but overall much better looking than some of the past years. Have seen some backcourt pressing defense, better rebounding and lots of run outs and some other things not seen much around here in the past ten years. More speed at the guard spot with Coyer in there, lots of speed when paired with Devon Kane.

The Big East will still be a struggle for us, but 8 wins is not out of the question and would probably get us into the big dance again barring any lapses against the teams that we should beat. We seem to be able to put the lesser teams away this year rather than let them hang around. Lehigh should be more of the same, although they did take us into overtime the past two years.
