I'm surprised nobody's commented on how the Patriots' own employees thought Brady was such a douchebag that they joked about overinflating the balls just to f with him. Because apparently he was so cheap he never tipped them for their helping him illegally doctoring the balls.

Have you ever talked shit about your boss or someone you work with? You'd expect something different because it Tom Brady?

if Brady just came out after the Colts game and said he had no idea of the rule or he liked the ball at the min of 12.5 and he thinks he was within the rules or the cold shrunk the balls even more everything would have been fine. the denial and cover up is what is making this a story. that and Bob Kraft superbowl speech about how everyone owes him BB and Tom and apology.

there is a difference between defending your people and going overboard which Kraft has done.

the NFL needs Brady for the thursday night opener, his fate is in troy vincents hands.

I disagree on the point about not knowing the rules. The Patriots are held to a higher standard and its assumed they know every rule there is. He would've gotten absolutely killed for saying that especially after they used the ineligible receiver rule against the Ravens the week before.

then just say i wanted them at 12.5, we had them at 12.5 within the rules, i dont know what happened to the balls.

you need to take care of the locker room and equipment people so they dont rat you out in these cases.

There was an article in the Boston globe that said they were Team-issued cell phones. It mentioned that the one guy (who just worked on game days) didn't even get a pair of Uggs from Brady. Apparently that was his standby gift to staffers. Practically rivals the Jeter gift basket.

Brady is a bad tipper, has a baby mama. sounds like a solid black guy.

Tiger woods next tip will be his first.

A report claims he's getting suspended. I will believe it when I actually watch a game without him taking a snap.

Roger Godell will throw the book at him and suspend him for the preseason.

Cant think of a bigger p*ssy than Roger. Id rather watch General Hospital than follow Rogers Soap Opera of a league. I watch the games, the FA wire, and the injury wire and leave the rest to the people who love the drama. I just wanna watch some football.

I'm going to guess you are OK With breaking the rules than lying about it, then?

No, but is this really that big of a deal that we have to make this massive f*cking spectacle out of it? The Pats broke the rules so punish them... dont bring in special investigators, dont bring in specialists and have ESPN do hour long specials.

They deflated footballs (and so did the Colts, by the way). Punish them and move on. At this point its just wasting time and beating a dead horse. Makes Roger look pathetic and unable to make a decision and stand by it. Perhaps its because he's actually incapable of making sound decisions (see: Rice, Ray).

I think the NFL knows the practice of this happening is more common than being led on. Some QBs like Rodgers prefer an over inflated ball. Much harder to detect for a defender when coming into contact with a ball with extra air as opposed to less air. The Patriots are scumbags but I refuse to believe this only happens in New England. He'll probably get a couple games. To set a precedent.

Didnt the Colts have 3 of 4 underinflated? Wheres the outcry over that? Andrew Luck wont be sitting out- guarantee you that. I get it that rules need to be enforced, but when it becomes more of a soap than a sport league youve got a problem.

And Roger has a problem.

The NFL/refs were also so concerned with a rule being broken that they couldn't take the time to measure the other 8 footballs the Colts were using because they had to get back from half time. This whole thing is a complete farse. We're talking about .02 PSI if you average the two gauge readings in the Wells report. I get it, people hate winners and they love to get dirt on them....We'd all love to see the NCAA find out that coach K has been doing something dirty... but people are getting bent out of shape about something with 0 proof.

Goodell is at the mercy of the media after the Ray Rice issue. He's going to suspend TB, TB is going to appeal, and TB is going to kick the shit out of the Steelers to start the season.

I'm fairly certain I heard the ideal gas law being discussed on 97.5 at lunchtime today.

Also they lose a 2016 first rounder, 2017 4th rounder (weird combo)...
And $1M fine to Pats.

Hey Ball, come out to play. Ball, come out to plaaayyy. Ball, come out to plaaaayyy-ay-ay-ay.......

On the surface this feel a little excessive. Guys are smacking chicks around and getting fewer games - but when you add up all the pats nonsense, it's probably light. Basically the NFL saying " just stop with all this bullshit you assholes"

Very surprised he got suspended. Turns the entire season opener focus onto his suspension instead of "celebrating" the NFL.

Patriots so called dynasty is tarnished now too.

Pretty obvious he systematically cheated for a long time, hence the harsh punishment. Was basically SOP for Brady, then he lied and smiled the entire time when challenged on it.

The 4 games once again proves the Watergate theory. It's not the crime, it's the coverup.

thats what I'm thinking. had they just admitted it initially, I dont think it would've been as bad if not for the attempted cover up.

Tom Brady is sitting somewhere in absolute disbelief he got suspended for letting air out of a football for longer than guys who beat their wives. Seriously, I'd love to been a fly on the wall when he found out.

This entire thing is silly but I agree with DMIL. The NFL is basically telling them to stop being weenies. They invent new ways to cheat. In some ways I'm incredibly impressed in their attention to detail and ingenuity in ways they cheat. Illegal formations, illegally taping teams, letting air out of footballs, harboring murders etc...they don't just do PED"s like everyone else. They are inventive. In other news, today they signed TE Fred Davis who just finished serving his suspension for PED's. Ah, the Patriot Way.

Not an NFL fan......certainly not a Brady fan. But, having played and coached football, I can't see where a couple of ounces of air out of a football can improve the handling or throwing the ball. And, if the amount of air let out of the ball was that significant, I would think the refs would have noticed it as they handle the ball on every down. And, from what I've seen, the patriots won't miss a beat.....they'll still be the top pick for the Super Bowl.......and for years to come. They won't miss the $MM.....or the draft picks.

again, they didnt NEED To do it to win and they didnt WIN because of it. no one (that I have seen) has claimed that.

Beat your wife and get 2 games, let a little air out of the ball and get 4 games. Roger really looks like hes on top of his game here. Its f*cking May. This should have been wrapped up within a week of the Superbowl.

Granted, you have to punish Brady as he not only broke the rules but moreso lied about it. That said, Roger really looks pathetic no matter what he does. No sense of priority or morals. Time to hang em up, champ. Tagliabue sent a clear message when he undid what Roger had imposed with Ray Rice.

Also, how were they able to prove that the Pats ownership/coaching staff was directly liable? I see the Tom connection but the picks confused me. If Bill had no idea (which he probably didnt) why punish the whole team? A 1st hurts, a lot. Seems like this one is on Tommy all the way. The ball boys are nobodys and are going to do what theyre told.

Due process is done by the media now. Whether it be Baltimore, the NFL, or any other scandal. Totally allowing the self loving hacks of the media to dictate how we think. Theyre brains are so warped they cant tell people watching the news for the news from people watching to watch them. And nobody is watching for anyone except for the weather girl.
