We gladiators son.

Mets beat bad teams. 15-1 vs Phillies/COL alone. I believe 40-14 vs the slop of baseball. Cap tip for taking care of business. Win a playoff series and real credit is given.

You know what the best part of my day is? For about 10 seconds, from when I go onto my computer until I bring up Benchwarmers, cause I think, 'Maybe I'll log on and you won't be there. No goodbye. No see ya later. No nothing. You just left. I don't know much but I do know that.

Ha ha.....Solid work here.

Awesome 4 game sweep. We just have to take care of business while the Nats keep imploding. Matz will rejoin rotation next week to bolster an already superb pitching staff.

Love this team.

Mets are actually 19-1 against phils/Rockies. Against last place teams in the NL, Mets are 22-1 (3-0 against Reds). Our next 6 games are against last place teams (3 Red Sox, 3 phils). If they can go 5-1 in that stretch, it will be pretty difficult for the Nats to recover.

Daniel Murphy is one of my least favorite Mets of all time. But I have to admit, the guy produces.

Imagine Harvey/DeGrom vs Kershaw/Grenkie.

A dodgers/mets series would be a cute sideshow compared to the Cards vs. Pirates/Cubs series. Its a gr8 system that the pirates and cubs (owners of the 3rd and fourth best records in the MLB) are going to be playing in a one game playoff. The winner earns the right to play the best team in baseball.

Meanwhile the dodgers and los mets have the sixth and seventh best records in baseball.

Now we get to drag the Red Sox all over the field this weekend. Great chance to exert our superiority over 2 obnoxious teams & fan bases in the same week.

YAWN. AL East was like this for 15 years.

I always thought Murphy got a bad wrap. I get he doesn't really have a true position, but outside Wright he's been their best position player over the last few seasons.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

By the way, does anyone remember a few years ago when goofy Mets' fans said they rather see a no-hitter and call the siblings, than watch the team play meaningful games all year?

Big deal. The "best team in baseball" was something like 81-81 when they won the WS in 06.

Last year the world series was played by two teams who could not muster 90 regular season wins. Baseball is goofy. Pitch and get hot at the right time. Mets are playing very well and they made good moves at the deadline. Give them credit where it's due. Failure to do so are small-minded, bitter responses. Still a month to go but they are playing as well as anyone since the break.

That's what makes the Yankees so GR8. They had the target and won. Not one of these one-trick pony teams that can only win 1 World Series during their "run".

No question. Also amazing how their fans seem to think it matters nearly 20 years later.

Solid post. They do deserve credit. Except they been dominant against slop and still can't beat good teams all that much.

It only matters who they beat in September and october

Think nardi has more of a hard on for the AL East than the Yankees. Do you call siblings when the Blue Jays win a big game?

My sense is that Nardi really isn't that big of a sports fan. Nothing wrong with that either. However, he enjoys using the Yankees card from time to time. I mean, 27 World Titles and made his bones in the CoDB, so why not right?

Yawn.
