Headed down to the reunion this week. Anyone else attending? For those that have been in the past, any recommendations as far as what events are worthwhile?

Stay in the dorms. Seriously. It's awesome.

Other than that, the major thing is the party on Sheehan Beach. Lot of fun, lot of booze. Lots of kids and families but fun.

You'll spend most of your time doing exactly what you did when you were a Junior living on West Campus.

Would that be drinking 2 beers at once several times over and/or mining used hard drives for the original Winged Calathes picture?

Will be staying on West. Is the thing on Sheehan beach the picnic or the party Saturday Night?

No going but it's my 50th reunion. It's hard to believe it's been 50 years since I was a student!

Went to our 5 year, definitely agree stay on West. Friday night hyit up one of your favorite bars in the area then Saturday I would recommend the picnic followed by an after part on West campus. Not sure about your age but it seemed like the people who enjoyed the Saturday night party were older. If you still enjoy beer pong, flip cup, and just stupid fund I would recommend skipping out on it. Get drunk on west and order Campus Corner, live like a king for a weekend before you go back to reality on Monday.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT, miss either of these presentations...

June 5, 2 p.m. - Bleeding Pixels: Violent Video Games and Real-World Violence
Patrick Markey, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology and Director, Interpersonal Research Lab
Falvey Memorial Library, Room 205
Dr. Markey will present new research on the effects of violent video games and help gamers and parents learn how to navigate this pixelated minefield.

June 5, 3:15 pm - Why Orange Really is the New Black: A Look Inside the American Prison System
Jill McCorkel, PhD , Associate professor, Department of Sociology and Criminology
Falvey Memorial Library Room 205
The U.S. currently imprisons more of our own people than any country in history. As close as thirty years ago, this was not the case. Dr. McCorkel will discuss her extensive research inside prisons and will share how prison experience shapes people's lives.

There is a day party on Sheehan Beach. Great opportunity to bump into people you haven't seen in a while. I highly recommend it just to see folks, be outside and drink.

I was a big fan of the Saturday night party. You wear something nice, you have dinner with people who are more responsible - and it's just a nice evening. Works best if you have a group you are going with and some people have their sh*t together. If that's not you, then you won't enjoy it.

Prefer to drink Natty Light, play beer pong, order $200 worth of campus corner for 30 people and sing Bruce Springsteen with Nardibynature shirtless. Guess my shit just aint together.

I agree with KJBert comments. Went to my wife's 5 year and my 10 year, stayed on west campus and did both the BBQ on Sheehan beach and the Saturday night party.

Going with my wife. (Class of 85). We just hit the picnic and that's about it. I think that the picnic is in the area around Connelly / Kennedy this year.

The west campus was sold out months ago, so a few of us booked a hotel out in KOP. Sucks, but not much you can do. A lot of people are just doing the picnic, and skipping the gala dinner thing. If you don't have kids, you can stay in one of the South Campus dorms, but they don't allow anyone under 21 there.

Guess so...probably end up doing some light boozing during the picnic, put the wife and kids to bed and then drink. No idea, but I don't think I would use up a solo pass for this reunion...
