SCOTUS Upholds Gay Marriage

"That's why this is a social and not religious decision." Since this is what I said in my post, I have no idea what you're ranting about, 5.0 Perhaps, it's you who should go back and re-read my post!

I just would like to know what God or Jesus has to do with marriage.

I would guess that would depend on your religion or faith.........Marriage is a Sacrament in the Catholic Church. Will it still be a sacrament if two homosexuals are married and it begs the question, can homosexuals get married in a Catholic church by a priest? Think we'll see some fancy dancing steps around this topic by the Church. Didn't Pope Francis already say...."who are we to judge"

He did, but I dont think gay people are asking the church for this sacrament. Also, many catholic people do not have catholic weddings for whatever reason. Again, religion does not have a monopoly on the institution of marriage. And it's not the gov't right to decide who can and cannot do this.

Funny, my god tells me to love others and do to others as I would like to be treated. Yes, even if they are gay. Has my god been lying to me?

Read what I said more carefully. Islam does not recognize Jesus the way Christians do. Nor do the Jews. And yet they marry freely. So you can get married without Jesus.

It does not matter in this case what God said to Adam and eve. Atheists and agnostics marry freely with no mention of God. Marriage is a civil liberty, done often by sanctioned government officials under no denomination in a courthouse. No one is fighting for the right to be married in a Catholic church. Marriage is not the property of religion. It exists outside of religion for millions already.

No one gives a **** what an irrelevant actor from 40 years ago has to say. He's not getting a free pass. Chastising him is pointless. His opinion matters as much as the crazy town drunk, which is not at all.

Sorry was on my iPhone before. Mea culpa. Anyway, I wouldn't say "no one" cares. The guy has more than 8 million followers on social media and is a regular on MSNBC. Even if he is irrelevant, he still uttered what I consider to be an offensive, racially charged, reprehensible remark about a member of the Supreme Court.

Go easy on me, I was for marriage equality way before Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were.
