Be prepared to have part of your childhood destroyed.

what remakes have been good? is hollywood that unimaginative they need to remake every movie form the 80s?

It's not a remake. Spoilers....

They use an alternate timeline to what has already occurred. Same crap they're doing the x-men franchise. Creating alternate timelines and back and forth time-travel to keep churning out sequels. But it's not a remake.

I'll give them credit for one thing - they had to get very creative to find a way to rationalize an old Arnold playing a Terminator and they did do that - but by doing it basically took a hot sh*t on everything that was already done - making a mockery of T-1 and T-2 which were tremendous movies.

I just saw T2 recently again. Been a while. So far ahead of it's time technologically. Incredibly well done movie.

T3 was terrible as was Salvation. This is just continuing the trend.

T-3 was ruined by casting a horrific actor Nick Staal as John Connor. I thought that movie was actually pretty funny. It was more a comedy than anything but while it was nowhere near 1 and 2 it didnt ruin the continuity of the franchise. Salvation I didnt even watch so I cant comment on it. Once franchises start getting into alternative timelines and that sort of silly bullsh*t they just lose my interest.

Generally agree with gdog on T-3. Was a worthwhile effort, if obviously nowhere near the first two, good companion piece to them, good ending that fit it in well with them. It's also somewhat hilarious now to see Claire Danes in it after Homeland. She often acts like the same character with her screaming.

Watched about 10 or 15 minutes of Salvation once, found it totally unwatchable. Best thing that came out of that movie was probably the audio recording of Christian Bale flipping out on some cameraman during filming, he obviously took it pretty seriously.

Based on what I've heard of this one, will likely avoid (not that I get to many movies like this much being married with small kids anyway).
