Basically only going to pay attention to what Gdog picks, but curious to hear everyone's pick. A lot more people picking Manny than I thought. Five years ago i
could see it. Today not so much. Expecting a typical Mayweather fight where he walks away with the win and everyone's yawns. I know he's technically a flawless fighter - he just bores me to tears even more than Klichtko does.

Mayweather by decision (-106) at Pinnacle

Books buried on Pacquiao.

There's an awful lot of hype for a fight that in the absence of shenanigans is going to be either a unanimous or majority decision.

Beadle and Nichols have their credentials removed by Floyd's camp. Coward.

These guys weigh as much as I did when I was a HS Sophomore. Seriously, what happened to the heavyweights??

Mildly interested, but not $100 PPV interested. Anyone have a link to an 'unauthorized' streaming site?

These two are the kind of guys if you didn't know who they were and got into a situation with them, you would think you could pound them in seconds but in reality, they would take you out in no time. Mayweather by decision is my prediction.

Mayweather is the NJ Devills of boxing - or like Matt Damon in Rounders - check, check check. All night long check.

Mayweathers whole career has been one yawning unanimous decision after another. Great fighter I suppose but boring as shit to watch. I'm sure boxing snobs will scoff at me for not appreciating the subtly of his brilliance. Eff that. If I'm shelling out $100 for this slop, I want to see a street fight like Hagler-Hearns.

And it also kills me how it's 2015 and news outlets are forced to show still photos of PPV boxing matches rather than actual highlights. It's over. Not like your stealing from the PPV coffers by showing fight once it's over.

Floyd is boring as sh*t, but is an ATM machine for gamblers. And that's never boring.

Exactly diddy.

Was criminal how low the Mayweather by decision was last night. I was tickled pink when I bet it at -106. Mindboggling I could have got it at plus money yesterday.

Books were absolutely buried on Pac-Man last night; props included. Because of this they kept Pacquiao/Draw numbers too low and gave value elsewhere - especially Mayweather by decision; shoulda been -140 or so.

Man, was that one boring fight. Two guys who weigh less than 300 lbs combined, dancing around for 36 min. I'd be pissed if I'd paid $100 for PPV. My back-door stream from the UK was nearly perfect. Only buffered a few times, but I may still call to complain!

That fight was terrible. May weather pretty much has his gloves in front of his face the whole night blocking punches and occasionally slips a soft jab to pacquiao.

May weather built his career by ducking good fighters. And in the ring, it appears he has the same mentality.

I enjoyed his honesty after the fight - when he was talking to Pacquiao - "good fight.we made a lot of money"

Landed a lot more punches but thought Manny's were far heavier when thy hit. Neither guy did any damage to the other it didn't seem

Lamest "superfight" of all time. Mayweather didn't even land 3 power punches. Cap tip to his defensive maneuvering.

you guys havent watched Mayweather much if you thought that was boring/anything other than the ordinary

thats what he does

Yes it's what he does. It takes less than 5 secs to determine whether or not someone is a casual fan based on their opinion of Mayweather.

The most humorous thing is people actually thought a little guy like Manny was gonna get Floyd out of what he does. No chance in hell. It's going to take not only a guy who is bigger - but equally as fast. The bigger guys he does fight - Oscar, Canelo, are slow as sh*t. For a guy who can't read he is a calculated genius within his craft.

I'm not really into boxing. The sport just can't hold my interest anymore. Maybe I'm wrong but the boxers of the 80's and early 90's were more compelling and the story lines much more interesting. Guys fought each other in their primes. And there just seemed to be more top fighters. Let's not even discuss the heavyweight division. It's a shell of what it used to be.

Curious. If this fight takes place 5 years earlier, then does Manny stand a better chance?

At least Mayweather doesn't hold as much as Wladimir Klitschko, who really doesn't need to hold as he has big knockout power, which Floyd doesn't have, especially now that he's up in higher weight divisions. I personally enjoy watching Floyd fight, because you're always surprised when someone connects with a power punch.

Yes he stood a much better chance 5 yrs ago but only without random blood testing. That was the recognized height of his PED usage. When he was going up in weight and wrecking dudes. I don't think he's used in a few yrs. He hasn't wrecked anyone since. He out points guys now. Still a really good fighter but coincidentally his punching power went away around the time people were keeping a closer eye on him and accusing him of juicing. This fight was over the day it was signed with random blood testing. Floyd knew it. Hell even Manny knew it but he didn't care about losing bc he's getting toward end of his career now and was never going to make this sort of $ otherwise without giving into Floyd's demands.

As for fighters from 80s and even 90s, the game has changed. There are more promoters now. More networks. More hands in the proverbial cookie jar. They are also fighting for a lot more $ than they used to - so career longevity and maximizing money-earning potential has taken precedence over appeasing fans and fighting to the death. Guys are thinking more about tmrw in and out of the ring - because the money is so big. The biggest issue is the promoters are looking out for their own interests. And when someone is looking out for their own interests all that matters is low risk-high reward. Those are the types of fights you get on the regular. I don't blame casual fans for not caring. Not one damn bit. I only follow the sport so closely b/c it's ridiculously easy to bet on. It's 90% politics.

Cotto's the only guy who really had a shot at getting to Mayweather, and that would have only occurred 1 in every 4 fights.

Mayweather is a great boxer but boring fighter, always has been , always will be. his longevity is based on not being hit in the ring. and you have to respect his talent and defense.

the only great mayweather fight was vs Sugar Shane Mosely. check that out on youtube. Mayweather took some huge shots and never went down.

Did not watch the fight. Dont get the appeal of watching 2 150 pound dudes hit each other in the face a few times. Dont get the hype either, Boxing has been relevant since Mike Tyson. I am shocked people waste 100 dollars to watch this. The Clippers vs Spurs game was 1000X better value and it was free.

Kentucky Derby, NBA, NHL and even Mets-Nats all better than that awful, boring fight.

Agree with this. You knew there was no chance you were going to see guys trading haymakers. Fight was a good excuse to have some people over when you probably wouldn't otherwise do so and drink some beers at a time with the kids already in bed.

Didn't think Pac-Man had any chance of winning, expected Floyd by unan decision. Was surprised at the amount and volume of the boos in the crowd for Floyd. 48-0 is still interesting to watch. The way Floyd was toying with him the last couple rounds was impressive. Would have liked to have seen Manny take a few more risks, thought he let him off the ropes a couple times in earlier rounds when he should've just gone all in.

In past years would go to Cavanaugh's in Philly and watch the bigger PPV fights, reality of life in the suburbs with kids is that a "big fight" at home is somewhat more interesting. Had not purchased one before, thought $100 for this was fine given how rare one that I would actually consider watching/going out to see a PPV is.

there are so many good fighters out there today but problem is they are not heavyweights, thats the problem, the casual fan wants to see heavyweights slug it out, not guys who are 5'5" slapping each other.

I guess $100 was fine, we at least had four people watching so the price per person wasn't that bad. Comparatively speaking you get much more for your $$ with MLB extra innings and the NFL Ticket.
