In your TQ you mentioned that when you see a new watch you like, you buy it and swap it out for your old one. How do you sell your old ones? eBay? I have a bunch of watches that I don't wear and I'm wondering how best to dispose of them.
Are these questions directed to me or TMJ? Very difficult to tell without proper use of the quote feature.Have you ever spent less than a grand on a watch (as an adult)?
Are you strict aboit automovement or do you slum it with batteries at times?
I would start with something else, maybe a used Omega. Make sure that you're ok winding it (or using an autowinder), and generally ok with having something delicate on your wrist. Was thinking about dipping my toes into the watch game. What are your thoughts about Nomos? I like the minimalistic designs and cant really rationalize dropping 5 figures on my first nice watch when i've never ever worn one consistently
Ball, what era? I have a 1978 Seamaster and it's caused me a lot of problems. Dropped 700 bones on a full service back at Omega in Switzerland (too 3 months to get it back), and it's still not working. Just had to send it back again. I haven't had the watch since Christmas. Disaster of a watch. This is it, same color and all (green face is very rare).I have two vintage Omega seamasters. Neither were all that expensive. I use a dual watch winder for them. One with a leather strap, the other has a metal band. They probably have a ton of Frankenstein/replacement parts to them but I have had them for a number of years and they keep good time and work well.
I'm just a poor CoPer reading through this thread.
I recommend the Orbita Siena.Just looked up Watch Winder.
