Looking back, Obama has been a complete failure:
- reduced unemployment from 7.8% to 5.8%
- S&P has doubled
- annual deficit has decreased each year
- consumer confidence index went from 35 to 94
- 10 million fewer citizens without health insurance

How much more of this type of failure can we take?
My rankings of candidates that can right this sinking ship:
1. Donald Trump
1a. Ben Carson
2. Rick Santorum
3. Ted Crux
4. Marc Rubeo
5. Scott Walker
6. Chris Christie
7. Laura Bush
8. Rick Perry
9. Jeb Bush
10. Ronald Reagan

Serious question: Does the stock market have any relationship to the health of the economy anymore? It seems like the stock market's biggest fluctuations involve news about increasing/decreasing corporate socialism benefits from the fed.

Almost every major strategic decision Obama has made has been a complete and utter disaster. China and Russia are both unafraid of the repercussions of expansion, Iran is continuing to enrich uranium despite a flaccid agreement to supposedly keep them from getting the bomb, North Korea is more aggressive than it has been in decades, refusing to obtain a status of forces agreement with Iraq sent the country from relative stability to utter chaos, and the unconstitutional military action against Libya created a failed state 300 miles away from mainland Europe.

Today from Joe Klein - But the populist case against the Clinton-Obama economic policies has real substance as well. It is no coincidence that the fundamental distortion of the American economy, with the deck stacked to benefit the financial sector, also dates back 30 years, when Democratic Congresses began to slip pro-bank provisions into the tax code, reaching a peak during the Clinton Administration with the demolition of the wall between commercial and investment banking and the flagrant refusal to regulate exotic derivative financial instruments—which, in turn, led to the Great Recession.

But we have a progressive tax code.

Yes we do. And your point is? You notice, Klein said nothing about tax rates tilting the economy toward the rich.

It's amazing how successful the country is despite 6 years of a president whose every major decision has been a complete disaster. We would all have golden toilets and AK-47s by now under president McCain. They would probably be naming sh*t after him. McCain D.C. McCain logs. McCain-nomics.

I think it's a testament to the sheer size and force of the American Government. Even one clueless guy doesn't screw everything up at once. Those policies are usually felt many years later. Clinton and his decision around Glass-Steagall would be a very good example of this at play.

I don't think John McCain would be much better, because he would have injected himself into every foreign crisis imaginable. Mitt Romney however, would have been better.

By the time economy killing Obama leaves office, the unemployment rate will likely be lower than it was at any time during St. Ronald Reagan's presidency. This guy is holding us back!! Quick, somebody write a thinkpiece on why disenfranchised worker rate is so much higher now! WHAT IS THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR TRYING TO HIDE!?

Disagree. EVERY major strategic decision has been a complete and utter disaster. There have been no exceptions.

Damn pinko Muslim socialist and his pro-business ways!! He destroyed this country.

Are you including those who have stopped looking for work?

Do you really believe the unemployment rate is only 5.8%?? That is a complete lie. What about the millions who are out of the job market not even looking for work anymore because the market is so bad. The 'unemployment rate' does not include that number. Nor does it account for those who are 'working' and underemployed. Obummer is the worst thing that has happened to this country. Period.

I find it interesting that these Facebook factoids always include this. If it wasn't for TARP in GWB's last year, this would be a lie. Deficit has been a disaster, and national debt is out of control.

Who is it that you think is "lying"? And in what other conspiracy theories do you believe?

The govt/BLS that releases those stats. Duh.

To list a few:
  • Obummer is not a US citizen
  • 9/11 was an inside job
  • Never landed on the moon
  • Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen

This can't be a serious thread - Obama has not been good for the country. Any mention of the success of Obamacare should be met with laughter.

Preach, brother. Please add to my list of super-negative indicators that he has been an utter disaster. This country is desperate for some corporate handouts. Prime the pump!

Damn Muslim Kenyan he:

Captured and killed Bin Laden
Wouldn't appoint Jeremiah Wright or Bill Ayers to his Cabinet
Has allowed gun sales to reach record level of sales
Has increased the production of oil within our borders and driven down the price of oil

This Country deserves and demands a Cruz/Perry administration

Did he really have anything at all to do with this?

Also, does anyone else realize that the start of his time in office (January 2009) practically correlates with the very bottom stock market (March 2009)? Isnt that a matter of good timing on his part?

And he could have increased it more. However, don't let it change the narrative. Obama is an oil drilling crazy man.

He caused all the catastrophes listed in this thread. Only a God-fearing Republican controlled congress has kept the Sickle and Hammer from flying over this nation for the last 6 years.
GOP didn't have the Senate until this January. Didn't get the House until 2011. Regardless, carry on.
