Josh Hart

I read this article last night and I found a couple of things odd, halfway down the writer declares that Hart will be drafted this year and further down he mentions how Brunson will have to pick up where Hart left off with this team. Not sure if it was in this article or not but I did read a quote where Jay said that after the season Josh has a decision to make. Sometimes this decisions are already made. Im wondering if the author knows something. I said 3 months ago that I thought Josh should leave early simply because of how hard he plays, sort of like the Derrick Rose effect, those knees can only take so many powerful jump stops. Now he has the chance to win a national title and this is a VERY WEAK draft class. Josh plays the game like Chase Utley. I remember reading articles 5-6 years ago where baseball writers warned that Utley's body would not hold up because of how hard he played, this was BEFORE his first knee injury. We all love Josh but IMO win or lose tonight his future would be better off leaving.

The idea that UNC is more talented...

...is pure crap.

Sick of hearing how talented UNC is. UNC has 1 projected 1st-round pick on his team in Brice Johnson, and ESPN's latest mock doesn't even have him in there.

I wouldn't be surprised if more players on Villanova's roster get NBA paychecks than UNC's.

- Arch and Paige is a wash.
- Berry might be a little better than Brunson at this point, but it's close.
- Hart is a lot better and tougher than Jackson.
- Who on Carolina can guard Jenkins? Meeks has no shot to stop Jenkins. Brice would have some issues, too.
- As good as Brice is, Ochefu is really good, too. And Ochefu is better than Meeks.

I don't see how Meeks stays on the floor to guard Jenkins. Pinson will get a lot of playing time in this one.

We'll force UNC to go small and play our game, and we win. People thought Kansas would wear us down with their big men, too, but they have to guard our guys, too.

The biggest key is rebounding. Our guards need to chip in rebounding, but if we don't get killed on the glass, I think we have more matchup advantages than they do.

What are we hoping/praying for.........?

Sitting here listening to the sports talk show and all the predictions........and got to thinking about what Nova Nation should be thinking and hoping for. Basically, think we all have the same hopes, but, maybe looking a little deeper we might or should have some other hopes for this event.
First thing popping to mind is thanking all the Nova Nation that is in Houston showing the love and support of our team, win or lose; and hope all their travels are completed safely.
Next, I recalled something that a coach of mine used to tell us, win or lose always show respect, to your teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and the game itself.
And, hope that both teams play up to their ability; that there are no injuries. That the officials see and make the correct calls and have no affect on the outcome; but, if they do, accept it as part of the game, win or lose.
I'll stick this in because I saw it in the Inquirer this morning; hope that Jay Wright remains at Nova until he retires and isn't wooed by the NBA or any other school.
Not hoping for any miracles, don't think we need them; just continue to play at the level we have seen for the last three weeks.
And finally, win or lose, we should all thank and appreciate the best season ever, in any sport that Nova has ever experienced. Thank you, and we'll never forget...............

Villanova Wildcats, forever.

Another Deadly Amtrak Crash in the CoP

Look, we all get a little nervous when driving through Philly to get to places of business or pleasure. The low employment rate and high crime rate are well known reasons why the CoP is so dangerous.

But now there's been a second Amtrak accident with fatalities in the CoP. Is it really getting to the point where NE Corridor citizens can't get to Wilmington Delaware without getting killed?

ESPN, again

First they declare that this year's tournament is "boring" despite the fact that you have a team playing in the title game who has blown the doors off everyone and held the field's #1 seed to a season low in offense...

Now on the ticker/crawl during the Mets-Royals game they inform the audience that Villanova is playing in their 2nd national championship game -- not including the 1971 title game appearance which they were forced to vacate. As if anyone knows, cares, or remembers that.

Then they mention that UNC is simply going for their 6th national championship, as if they haven't been proven to be one of he dirtiest, most fraudulent programs in D1.

At first I did not buy into the notion that ESPN was shunning the NBE bc of the Fox rivalry. But now I'm completely convinced. There's prob a task force in Bristol dedicate to denigrating the league. There are so many examples. When we were #1, our box scores were almost never listed near the top of the scoreboard of their mobile app. You actually had to scroll to the bottom of the page to find a box score for the #1 team in the country! That is, if it was even there at all. Sometimes, you'd have to filter on the BE to get our box to appear.

My flight home tonight from Houston

The pilot says before the descent...we have a lot of people on here from Villanova and I want to give a congratulations to Villanova for a huge win last night. Everyone applauded!!! It was awesome. Our program rocks. What a time in Houston. Had to come back today but I will always remember being in section 104 going nuts for Nova and seeing the sea of red so somber. What a huge win! Stayed right next to syracuse hotel at Marriott by Galleria. Their fans were so obnoxious to sit with. I was in with a bunch of them.Wish I could be there tomorrow but what an awesome weekend! Best sporting event I have been to live

Also nice chatting with a freshman who works for the team who flew home with us and she was on my shuttle to the airport. The excitement she had for working for Jay and the university was evident. She was good friends with Nardi's family. Nice girl. Eric Eberz stayed at my hotel and was nice chatting with him at breakfast. We were so pumped
