Guess we can't criticize nova even a bit on this board

So I will ask a serious question. How in the world is SJU winless in the big east. I usually am not one to give too much credit to opponents when I feel it is more our execution/play that may be an issue but yesterday was a combo. I think despite us absolutely dominating the paint offensively and executing on several occasions, SJU really hung tough, did well on the o board, executed their offense well at times and really gave us a game for much of it. So they played X very tough twic,e, played us tough twice for large pits of the game. How have they not been able to win a big east game?

Individual ballots

Looks like we will be close to unanamous this week!

Also looks like St. Joes is going to be ranked.

your thoughts on how SJU defended Hart

interested in seeing what people think about how St. John's guarded Josh Hart.

this was his first non-double figure scoring game and they held him to 1-6 shooting ... he did make three trips to the FT line.

This was his 6th game held to an ORtg under 100.
The Johnnies did it twice.
Providence did it in the last WFC game
prior to that it happened against Marquette, vs. Oklahoma, and Stanford.

SJU game is over.....sub-par effort.....

So now, tell me how are Cats going to execute and survive on N. Broad Street on Wed.? Will Jay run the offense through Daniel.........will there be a barrage of threes........Have only seem bits and pieces of the Owls, but, they have some decent wins.....UConn twice, SMU.....Don't you think TU would love to knock Nova off and out of #1.......??? They still need help getting a bid........

Big East Today (Sat, 1/13)

Gonna be freezing this weekend - stay inside and watch some BE basketball. Great slate on Saturday leading up to the Cats at night:

Georgetown @ Providence - 12 pm
Too strong to say it's a must win for the Friars, but they need to right the ship fast. GTown needs a quality win badly as Butler is surging. Big game for both teams. I'll take PC in a close one though, at home.

Xavier @ Butler - 2:30 pm
X doesn't need it, but again here's a team that could use a win to stabilize things before the tournament. X is looking at a top 2-3 seed if they can get a few wins together. Butler is coming together at the right time -- coming off a huge win on the road at Seton Hall the other night. I don't see a line on this one, but my guess is that it is close to a pick, maybe Bulldogs a slight favorite. Give me the Bulldogs at home in a really close game.

Creighton @ Marquette - 8 pm
Probably an elimination game for two teams on the outside looking in. I don't think the loser can do enough down the stretch to earn a bid. Both with big wins last week, but both need more. Marquette wins at home behind their length and home crowd to march on.

Complaints about Under Armour Basketballs

http://deadspin.com/players-keep-complaining-about-marylands-under-armour-b-1758699150

Anyone else find it silly that there isnt a universal ball for D1 NCAA basketball. If there are players and coaches that legitimately feel differences in brands of basketball than it seems like a pretty easy decision to make a universal ball. I doubt the ball "sponsorship" is the main goal for Nike/Under Armour/etc. It would be trivial to implement.

Perhaps this is why our team shoots better at home.
