PCL First Team

Quade Green and DCR both made the first team PCL! That is an accomplishment in itself, well deserved for those two recruits. Looks like, as I counted, seven D-1 players on the first team.

Looking forward to the PCL playoffs, I assume NG/Roman are going to be in the title game! I wish that game would be on TV like the old days, that is going to be an intense game.

Good luck Patsox!

Tonight's BE games

6:30 PM BUTLER (5-6) at Seton Hall (7-4)

(Kenpom: 78-72 SHU - 71% chance of SHU W) (Fox Sports 1)

I would be okay with a Butler win here to try to get Butler above .500 and back on the bubble. But it seems that SHU is finding it's groove and will tcob at home in this one.

7:00 PM #20 PROVIDENCE (6-5) at Marquette (4-7)

(71-70 Providence - 53% chance of Friar W) (CBS Sports Network)

This is the really interesting game and is practically a coin toss. Will Marquette's size make the difference or will they continue to turn the ball over at such an alarming rate as to negate any scoring efficiency they attain. Is it better to have Providence win and stay ranked or to see if a hot Marquette team couldn't work its way onto the soft bubble. I think the former is probably what Cat fans should root for given that Marquette is projected to lose a dozen BE games. This game will test Providence's response to back-to-back losses - including that road loss to DePaul ... the Friars need to staff up and get it done here.

Latest Big East Tracker & BET Projection

Here is the update as of this morning:
https://villanova.n.rivals.com/news/2015-16-big-east-tracker

Highlights:
Only four teams are projected in the tournament now - Vill (1), X(2), Prov (7), Hall (8)
Butler and Creighton are bubble teams

Villanova is projected to win the BE regular season by 4 games over Xavier

The BET bracket has the Cats facing winner of DePaul/Marq and then Creighton or GTown in Semi-finals

The next four league games are Saturday as everyone but DePaul and Seton Hall plays:
.12:00 PM GEORGETOWN at Providence Providence, R.I.
2:30 PM Xavier at Butler Indianapolis, IN
8:00 PM ST JOHNS at Villanova Philadelphia, PA
8:00 PM CREIGHTON at Marquette Milwaukee, Wisc

25 and 12

The combined numbers of Ochefu and Reynolds. I know it was DePaul, but numbers like this in March from the 5 spot will go a long way to helping the Cats make a deep run.

You think about how tournaments games come to a half court grind. Reynolds improved play (from nowhere) makes us, potentially, so much better. Now we have multiple guys who can score inside, not depend on the 3 point shot: DO, DR, Jenkins and Hart. Even Bridges a little, plus he give us extra length. With Reynolds playing the way he is, we no longer have to be a small team. We're not huge, but big enough with toughness and athleticism. Also will help create inside-outside 3 point shots opportunities, which are the best kind. Interesting time....

OT: Mystery Audio

Anyone else having this problem? I am using safari on a macbook pro, and in the last few days, when I open safari, it's opening to google -- no other tabs open, no other browser open. But in the background, I'm getting an audio that autoplays as if there is a video re-loading on another tab and starting up. I'm asking this here b/c I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this site. The audio I'm hearing is two sports guys talking about Villanova being #1, so I don't know if it's a video I clicked on in a thread here?? Anyone else have this problem or have any idea how to correct it? I can easily mute it by clicking the blue speaker up in the nav bar and it mutes all tabs. But I have NO IDEA where this is coming from. Never had this happen before. Any thoughts??

Nice article on JB

http://www.chicagotribune.com/subur...illanova-wildcats-tl-0210-20160210-story.html

I was watching him intently last night to see how he would react to playing in his home town, and as the article states and is his MO, he took it all in stride. The first half I only remember the one 3-ball attempt, but I also remember him playing very hard on the defensive end...as hard as I have seen. In the second half he was attacking DePaul's matador defense every time he saw a gap.

He is quietly shooting 40% from deep in BE play, and given the ball to start the offense way more not. I would like to see him really take over a game, but that is clearly not needed most nights, and not what he is trying to be this year.

Bottom line...lucky to have him!

Twenty Southeastern Pa Commitments Headed To Nove Foes

Out of these 20 commitments, 8 are going to Temple. Every media outlet around Philly has declared Temple had a great recruiting year.
Five headed to Lafayette, two to Lehigh, while Maine, Richmond, UNH, Towson, W&M all took one. Notice none to Delaware. I am surprised. None to Nova. Again I am surprised. I'll list the players later this weekend. In the mean time I'll get ready for a big Nova hoops game today on national TV. I am going to the game watch at Gulliftys in Rosemont.
