NE Recruiting

Thank God we got Brunson and Spellman. Wow - two potential 4 year stars locked up.

The NE is going to be nuts for talent. Chris and his crazy assts at St. Johns. Freddy at SHU. Pitino and K always around. Cal when it's a stud. Boeheim still a factor. Just nuts. Luckily Calhoun is gone. Good Pitt is irrelevant.

Jay is amazing and has a great brand, but it's going to be tough - as tough as possible with most all local schools competitive for talent now. We will get ours, but great to have two stars locked up...

Wedding cake

So this is the next frontier in the gay rights debate? Is there now an absolute right to have a private business bake you a wedding cake?

I'm a supporter of the gays, but privately held businesses should be allowed absolute discretion whether or not they serve certain groups. People also should have absolute discretion to not give those businesses any of their money.

Meeting Brunson and Family

When I had the opportunity to meet Jalen and his mother and father at my daughters 8 th grade game I drew a couple conclusions. (1) Jalen is 6'1 , that's it I'm 6'1 and a 1/2 and I was a little taller then Jalen. This is a reason I don't fret a 1 and done , he can dominate all 4 years , as I fully expect him to do , I still question his NBA stock due to height and not having (Iverson, Lowry, Drose) type athleticism. The mom was charming all smiles decked out head to toe in Nova where. She was very gregarious and thankful for the well wishes from my wife and I . Rick was reclined on the bleachers. He didn't sit up to meet us not did he seem at all excited like the Mom. He wasn't really rude just disinterested

Fox Sports 0.1

One of the early and easiest knocks on the Big East has been its ratings on Fox Sports 1. I've contended that it is primarily due to the infancy of the network, and the dearth of quality lead in programming to our games. Audiences need time to regularly adopt viewing the network, and that will take time.

Just take a look at the ratings for Monday night. FS1 has ZERO quality primetime programming.

7-8PM Off Season Baseball - 43k viewers
8PM - Joe Maddon interview 33k viewers
8:30PM - Katie Nolan - 27k Garbagetime viewers
9PM - Grand Prix of Qatar - 56k viewers

From a Fox Sports perspective, Big East basketball drew 5x the numbers on a regular weeknight. BE championship drew over 400k on the network. Meanwhile, the Golf Channel is wiping up FS1 on a Monday night.

This is NOT a Big East issue. This is a Fox issue.

ST John's

They look to be the strong leader for Tennessee transfer Tariq Owens. Interstingly, one of the selling points to Tariq and crew is he will be developed by Ed Pinckney. HE is visiting St John's next week.

St John's also may get a visit from Drexel transfer Damion Lee. He has already been contacted by Mullin
