Tim Legler on Arch and Delaney

I heard Tim Legler being interviewed on WIP yesterday and he had some interesting comments on both Arch and TD. He thinks Arch has a reasonable chance of playing in the League as a back up point----compared him favorably to Dellavadova (he said Arch shoots it better for one thing) and a few others. Tim thought he was incredible for Nova this year and was a major, if not THE major factor in Nova winning the National Championship!! He also admired his toughness, competitiveness, and his ability to make the all right plays consistently. But if it doesnt work out for him this year, he also said Arch could go overseas for a year or two to compete against older and more experienced European players in Italy or elsewhere, and potentially improve and refine his game enough to come back and play solid back up PG minutes in the NBA at some point------and he said he certainly wouldn't bet against him doing just that!!
As for Delaney, Legler said he's known TD since he was in grade school and really likes his upside, and thinks he's gonna surprise a lot of people before all is said and done------he also said that Tim is a really good kid and will work hard to improve his game and compete for floor time throughout his career!!
Legler really knows his hoops (college and pro) so these comments were really nice to hear from someone of his calibre about both Arch and Delaney!
And one more thing-------when asked about rooting for the Cats in the Championship game Tim said he absolutely was rooting HARD for Nova despite his deep LaSalle roots, and was both thrilled and excited about KJ hitting that memorable game winning shot, not only for all Nova fans but also for the City of Philadelphia----------proud home of the 2016 NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!

NY Post on Draft Combine and Big East

http://nypost.com/2016/05/09/how-big-east-can-be-big-winner-or-loser-of-nba-draft-combine/

“It’s a big few days for [these three players] because it allows them to figure out who they are,” an NBA scout familiar with all three Big East players said. “It’s one thing to be the second best guy at Providence, the best guy at Seton Hall, and a real good guy at Villanova. But that’s something totally different from being a first-round pick.”

What a difference a championship run makes

The respect garnered around the college basketball world since Villanova's epic run is really amazing. Local articles, national media, top program fanbases...the tone from every one has flipped from discussions of paper tigers and disappointing finishes to talk of repeats and respect for how we did it.
3 months ago nobody knew Kris Jenkins or Josh Hart outside the BE. Now they are household names that strike fear and respect from other programs.
Jay is on every lost of dream replacements for every other program...especially the top ones.
Nobody will ever point out our run with a note about watered down talent...but instead how impressive and powerful a team we were.

Tickets for ND game in December

My friend is getting us tickets for the 12/10 game in Newark. He's only being offered tickets downstairs, behind the basket. He claims that they're not offering any upstairs tickets for sale. Is this another "Seton Hall" deal where they curtain off the upstairs to make the place look sold out on TV ? Has anyone else had similar issues getting tickets for this game? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

charleston/ future OOC tourney question

I'm possibly planning the trip to Charleston in November...was going to do Key west in Nov but now may bag that and just make a small vacation out of it for the tourney. First, I've never been to Charleston. Is there a decent amount of stuff for a 5 year old to do there? And second, does anyone know any specifics on this as far as team hotel etc.. I doubt the hotel is known yet but figured I'd ask.

And I really want to get my daughter to Atlantis in the Bahamas and she is too young now at 4 and half and I'm waiting to hopefully see Villanova down there the next time we go there. So does anyone know if we are in the tourney in Atlantis in 2017 or 18? Are we in any nice destinations the next 2 years? good vacation spots. Puerto RIco was awesome. Hope we get back there. Thanks for any advice regarding kid stuff and destinations

Championship Ticket Lucite / Memento

I mentioned shortly after the final (original thread - https://villanova.forums.rivals.com...r-your-championship-ticket.33045/#post-526464) I was thinking of having my ticket imbedded in a Lucite. I've done a bunch of research since then and want to open it up to people.

You can click on the following link to see what it will look like Login to view embedded media (I made a mistake when I sent the scan of the sample ticket, it would actually be the national championship ticket, not the semi-final ticket!)

I also DON'T need your actual ticket, they will reproduce a copy of the ticket, and then customize it for your seat (so you can hold on to your precious). If you scan me your ticket, that would be best, or if you only had a paper copy, you can just tell me your seat and section number. Heck, you don't even need to have been there.

DOWN SIDE - Cost is $90 (or $80-85 if I get enough people to sign up for it). I think I have 5 or 6 people already locked and loaded for this, but the more the merrier. I am happy to front the costs, but would want a commitment.

Feel free to reply here AND send me an email at bill@vusports dot com. I can only go through this once, so this is kind of a only once type deal
