Size vs. Talent

Don't remember if this has been discussed on the board, and I don't know the "right" or the "Wright" answer to this, but as I watch the NBA playoffs I was looking at the Golden State Warriors who are the favorites to win it all or co-favorites with Lebron and crew. Their lineup that I see during the majority of the game is:

Steph - 6'3 or so
Klay - 6''6 or so
Draymond - 6'6 or so
Harrison Barnes - 6'7 or so
Sean Livingston (glad he got healthy again - stud in h.s.) - 6'6 or so

If they can win the NBA championship with no one 6'8 in their core lineup - I know they have Bogut also... - why do we need two 6'9 guys to win an NCAA championship. There is more than one way to win, but it seems that many of the new era coaches (Kerr, Jay, Hoiberg, etc.) aren't necessarily concerned with having a post or multiple posts...

Calapari gets free look at DJ Harvey/VJ King

Cal was able to watch Takeover play last weekend at the EYBL in Minny even though it was during a dead period. His kid was playing and he was there as a parent.

DJ is still scheduled to visit Sunday. We are recruiting him very hard and for awhile now(even though we didn't offer until late April)

Heard Zona is probably the team to beat right now but we are in very good shape with him

Party of Ideas

Is the best the party of ideas can come up with as a 2016 Presidential candidate is a 60-something Hillary Clinton, who has yet to answer a single policy question in this race, and yet is the presumptive nominee? Talk about a party that has ZERO ideas, zero youth, zero energy. Their only hope is to rely on the media not pointing out what a fraud of a candidate she truly is. At least the media is holding up their end of the bargain on the first week of her campaign. Her accomplishments include voting for the Iraq war, not evacuating an embassy with in Benghazi where she was well aware of the danger, and then blaming the coordinated attack on a rouge video, giving Putin the reset button...shall I go on? The current president would be Jimmy Carter if he wasn't so damn engaging. If you poll his policies, they are all losers. His 2 greatest accomplishments are his 2 campaigns. Democrats need to serious look in the mirror because they were given a golden opportunity with a horribly unpopular President 8 years ago, and this is all they have to show for it.

DH getting some NBA Draft love, best of luck young man

I had to share this on one of my favorites via SI writer Luke Winn on the upcoming NBA Draft:

9. My deeper sleeper is a 3-and-D candidate. Deep as in, someone who doesn't even appear in the first or second round of major mock draft. My mystery man is Villanova's Darrun Hillard,a 6'6" wing who shot 39.9% from deep over the past two seasons. He can make plays off the bounce without committing turnovers and he's an athletic, smart perimeter defender who can guard point guards and wings.

Hilliard earned some All-America votes during Villanova's 33-3 run this season, so he isn't anonymous, but his true impact on the Wildcats' back-to-back Big East title teams has been under-acknowledged. In '13-14, according to HoopLens.com's plus-minus data, the Wildcats had an efficiency margin of +0.201 points per possession when Hilliard was on the floor—the highest margin of anyone in their rotation. And in '14-15, Villanova was an amazing +0.273 PPP with Hilliard on the floor—again the highest margin of anyone in its rotation. He had massive, positive impact on 'Nova's offense and D, and was quietly one of the nation's most valuable players. He's worth a late-second-round pick.

1000 to go

Eric, sorry for the seemingly duplicate post on top of DC_VU_Chapter, but, I wanted to emphasize how close we are to reaching our 26% alumni participation goal. We need 1000 alums to give in any denomination to clear the benchmark. A benchmark we have never seen before.

Villanova is doing amazing things, things that I never would have thought possible when I was on campus 15 years ago. If you have not given this year PLEASE do not let the notion that your gift will not matter (due to size) deter you. Last year Villanova was able to compile 1.5 Million dollars from gifts that were 249.00 dollars and smaller.

No matter what you decide please know everyone on this board has my respect. Whether it be time, money, or simply endorsing the university, you have all done great things for our school.

I have attached the following to show the difference a gift can make.

GO CATS!!!
