It's time to let it go...

We have been ranked fairly all season long. We are, by all indications, about to be seeded fairly. Who gives a shit what the knuckleheads on TV say? Maybe I'm just getting old, as I know this used to bother the hell outta me, but I really don't care anymore. This team has been so enjoyable to watch, the last thing I want to do is let these dipshits take the fun out of it for me.

Over the next few weeks (hopefully 3 of them), this team will either prove them all wrong or prove them right. Enjoy the ride boys and don't let DBs like Doug Gottlieb take any of the joy out of this for you.

REYNOLDS FROM XAVIER...A REPULSIVE DISPLAY OF SPORTSMANSHIP.....

REYNOLDS FOR THE SECOND GAME THIS YEAR....STARED DOWN COACH WRIGHT......POINTED AT HIM..AND EXCHANED WORDS EVERY MULTIPLE TIMES IN FRONT OF OUT BENCH OR WHEN A TEAMATE WAS SHOOTING FOULS......THIS IS AN EMOTIONALLY IMMATURE KID WITH A LACK OF SPORTSMANSHIP.......BUT HE IS STILL A KID.....THE REAL PROBLEM IS XAVIER COACH MACK....WHO LET IT OCCUR......A GUTLESS MAN WITH NO ETHICS......HIS TEAMS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN BRAWLS AND SCUFFLES REPEATEDLY THROUGHOUT HIS TENURE, INCLUDING THE INFAMOUS CINNCINNATI BRAWL.........ILL BE WRITING A LETTER TO THE BIG EAST COMMISIONER.....AND PRESIDENT OF XAVIER UNIVERSITY FOR LETTING THIS POOR ROLE MODEL ON THE SIDELINE........COULD YOU IMAGINE WHAT JAY WOULD DO IF ONE OF OUR PLAYERS WAS CURSING AND TRYING TO ITIMIDATE AN OPPOSING COACH................IM CALLING FOR THE PRESIDENT OF XAVIER UNIVERSITY TO HOLD MACK ACCOUNTABLE.........

Big East Week Thoughts from MSG

Let me be first to say this was one of the best basketball weeks I have had in a very very very long time, probably not just basketball weeks but just life weeks in general.

The Big East Tournament has become my favorite sporting event since I moved to New York 10 years ago. My Dad and I made commitment after my senior year that we would buy full books to every Big East Turnament. We had our traditions, Blood Mary before the first day games, a nice steak dinner or italian meal one night, probably the only full meal, talk about Nova basketball, Big East basketball and the Red Sox. It is about watching basketball just overall spending some quality time with my father, which is what it truly is about. After we lost to Seton Hall last year my Dad turned to me and said "I dont know if I can do this again". After all the disappointing endings we have had, my brother who lives in AZ called up right after and said he was going to book a flight out that weekend next year and we were going to do a father/ all sons weekend. I should have known that would be the difference maker. My brother's last big east final was in 1995, my Dad has already committed to take him to Indy if we make it there.

Big East week is special to me, my family, my best friends, my internet friends as my wife says all come to NYC. We come to cheer on the Cats, we come to support to team but more importantly well get to spend quality time together. From talking to Novaworm about how he thinks Henry Lowe would take bullet for Darrun Hillard to having an in depth discussion about which Nova team is better, 2006 or 2015. This is the stuff that I love. Villanova is a huge part of my life. My Dad and I have been watching games together since I was a baby, I met my wife at Villanova and I met my best friends there.

So after all the mush, I want to first thank Jay. Last night was because of Jay Wright. MSG was wild, might have been the loudest I have ever seen and I was at the Knicks game a few years ago when Linn went off on the Lakers. The fans were electric, I saw so many grown men hugging and saying 20 years, 20 freaken years! We all have our traditions for the BET, whether it be Dad, wife, friends, kids or whatever. Jay knew it meant the world to its fans to win last night. He has built a team, he has built a culture that is incredible. I had a dozen Xavier fans come up to me after the game and tell me, one day we want to be like you.

Darrun Hillard and JVP, thank you. The way you play makes me proud. Darrun Hillard has brought me to tears twice this season, one when I watch inside villanova basketball and last night when the jumbo tron just showed him in amazement looking a the sky. JVP, you are one tough dude, you stuck it out, you cut down the nets in your home town city, you sacrificed everything for the program. You are truly one my favorite all time players.

To the whole entire Nova team, thank you. I watch you guys and I can tell you guys love each other and man it makes you so easy to cheer for, this is my favorite sports team of all time. Something in my gut tells me its not over and it wont be over for a few weeks, what your doing is truly special. We as fans cant be more appreciative for what you have done.

To Father Peter, to make the trek after Father Dobbins funeral all the way up to NY just shows how great of a leader your are. I have known you since my days at Nova and you are just a great person who bleeds blue and white. You could tell it meant alot to Jay that you were in the house last night.

To Jay Wright, just thank you. Thank you for being the man, thank you for make us proud. What you have done for this school is incredible.

To Eric, what you do for us Villanova geeks is amazing. You take the time give us the opportunity to talk hoops for 12 months. You plan get togethers, you give us recruiting information, you do it all. Thank you for all you do for Nova Nation. I had a great time catching up with you this week.

As for the rest of the board members I saw at MSG, Stout, Blarney Rock I had absolute blast. This community of Nova basketball nerds is just a great place with great fans and great people. I hope to see many of you along this long road ahead in March!
