Drinking tap water, taking questions.

Welcome back, glad you are here. What are the things you like most about your wife?

How many Phillies games do you plan to attend this year?
How many Phillies games will you watch from start to finish (or at least more than 75% of the game)
Who has a higher SLG % this year - Dom Brown or Ben Revere?
Gun to your head, what team is Cole Hamels pitching for after the trade deadline?
Will the Nats get past the LDS this year?

Did you lurk at all on your hiatus? Or did you go completely cold turkey?

5

5. I never watch start to finish on weeknights - will just check in for two or three innings at a time.

Dom Brown - last year was rock bottom for him. He's not a star, but he's better than that.

Gun to your head, what team is Cole Hamels pitching for after the trade deadline?
I hope the Phillies. Their management is incapable of making a decent trade. What a stud he is. I just started to put together some analysis of pitch f/x data for him.

Will the Nats get past the LDS this year?
No. I can't stand that team. Born silver medalists. McNabbs of baseball.

Lurked. My life was not diminished by not weighing in with my opinions about Sam Hinkie. Got a lot accomplished in the last 6 weeks. Had a relapse today. Will go back into hiding periodically. I plan on a paleo diet of newsgroup consumption. Feast and famine.

Just decided to take a step away and see if it would clear my mind, motivate me and improve my workday.
Been feeling crappy about life in general this week, so I thought i would pop in for a day or two now to lift the spirits.

I used to go against the grain. It was a close shave. But I stopped at some point, not particularly because of irritation or anything. Probably just because I saw someone trash it on a personal makeover show and thought I should explore the benefits of with the grain only.

I'm still afraid to pull the trigger and ditch the disposable mach 3s for a safety razor. Gutless.

How often do you get your haircut and how much do you pay?
Describe the last time you had more than 10 drinks in a night.
How would you improve the MLB All Star Game/All Star Weekend?
If you were the new MLB Commissioner, what are the top 3 things on your agenda (don't worry about fan feedback, just what you would like to see).

How far you do you see our Cats going in this year's tourney? Obviously match-ups play a big role but do you see us a second weekend team, third or early exit candidate?

I shoot for once a month. Sometimes lapse to 6 or 8 weeks and look homeless. it's a crappy chain strip mall place - i prefer going at 8PM on a weeknights. $17, i think.

Ten drinks is a tall order unless you're drinking Miller 64. Either 3 years ago at my former boss' wedding (near immediate divorce). Or last summer I may have had 10 Natty Boh's with some old Nova buddies - playing cards, shooting the sh*t.

Not have it. Too much cynicism these days for most people to just enjoy it. They definitely need to take the WS home field advantage off it. What a dumb way to assign that advantage.

comprehensive drug testing
end whatever bullsh*t rules that keep teams from bringing up young talent
ban no-trade clauses

RE: Burrs

That was an interesting point that someone made. I did not think of it like that when I left, so it was not the direct cause. But his constant whining does make the newsgroup much less enjoyable.

Same sh*t different year 2 or 3 seed, 2nd or 3rd game disappointment. Would love to see someone step up and take the wheel and at least give the 1 seed hell in the elite 8 game, if not make a final 4. Odds of that are low. 15:1?

Do you put ice in your filtered tap water?

You can only pick one sport to exist for the rest of time. Its all that people are allowed to play, watch, etc. Only one sport will exist in all of human existence. Which sport do you pick?

At home, i put ice in. Not sure if the fridge makes ice with filtered water or not. At the workplace, i go with no ice.

Basketball is the sport that provides the best combination of playability for all skill level, constant action and enjoyment as a viewer. No one over 25 wants to play football, baseball is too slow for many. Soccer is alright and could work too, i guess. Can be too slow at times. I have no idea what good hockey looks like. Dumping the puck and why goals are scored is a mystery to me. Every other sport is either basically a casual game or a fringe activity.

NFL Football - LESSNBA Basketball - MORE - it's the ultimate game and is coming out of a rough stretch of labor issuesMajor League Baseball - WAY LESSNHL Hockey - SLIGHTLY MORE - biggest gap between watching live (amazing) and on TV (zzz)College Basketball - LESS - I can't imagine student athletes exist in 25 years, right? Can't they just be sponsored players with the option for a free education?
