That's what the Villanova community wants to happen. Let's make it happen.

That money should be going into building top notch men's and women's soccer programs, lacrosse and women's field hockey. You know, sports where we can compete at the highest level.

Division 2 football sucks.

We lose more money a year on football than Boston College invests in both women's and men's soccer combined. BC soccer is fantastic. Why don't we focus on sports where we can compete and go non-scholarship in football?

Thanks for the constructive discussion.

With Eric gone I knew it wouldn't be long before Ball started running wild on his favorite topic.
To Mike the new moderator this dude is the board's favorite pimple on the ass.

Mike if you let this guy run wild you'll be left with only him as a reader - appears not to have the $ to actual subscribe

I know how much you love Villanova athletics, so any opinion you have on this subject has to be taken very seriously by not only the fans but the administration. You are 100% correct, Villanova playing lower division football does nothing to enhance the athletic reputation of the university, nor the student campus experience. Based on your home attendance, nobody really cares about Villanova football, including the students, alumni, and staff. The money wasted on that program could be better served by fully funding sports in which your university competes at the highest level. It is time to start making rational and non emotional decisions, and hopefully following your splendid lead, the administration will reevaluate its commitment to a second tier program within a first tier university.

Ass whole number 2 stick your ass back into Burberrie.

But unfortunately they do not want you their either nor neither.

This guy adds no value to the site. The remainder of your members come here to get information pertinent to the Villanova football team.

This guy, who uses several usernames, has an agenda that no one here wants to constantly see or address.

The former moderator found a way to ban him for the past few months. Mike, you need to do the same!

Why are you guys so afraid to debate this issue on the merits? Instead of defending your opinions you look to ban posters. In all honesty, I believe the few Villanova football fans, and there only a few, are afraid to discuss the long term viability of the program and the financial drain on the other Villanova sports that results from its continued funding. It is time for a reality check, spending millions for the entertainment of a few at the expense of other top tier programs makes no logical sense, period.

You talk about a reality check. Now that's what I call rich, if not hilarious.

BTW: BC should review how much they spend on their men's soccer program by your goals. I checked their attendance for home games and it's hard to find a game with more than 500-600 at a game & most are attended by around 300 fans. More $$$ into D1 soccer for that attendance? Obviously, the message isn't getting around how great the program is.

Please go away. Take this to the soccer forum. Voice your opinions with those who may actually buy your statements.

It's time for the haters to get off this page....If you don't like the football program, feel free to create your own blog with like minded people to join. But here, we are about the Nova Football program and this is where we gather to support the team... smh

Not proud of it, but, not a regular poster on the football forum......First, I do follow the progress of Andy Talley and his teams but, not a season tix holder and haven't attended a game in a few years. But, I have ties to another program whose games I attend, and also a local top high school program. So, my approach to the Nova program may not seem important. But, My first thought, is that in the fall, colleges should be playing football! And, this goes for Nova. But, considering the enrollment (approx 7000 undergrads), the facilities, I don't ever see Nova above the FCS level. And maybe, DII or DIII would be more appropriate. But, think that Football does need to be on campus.

Football should remain

It should just be re-evaluated as to expenses and its priority inthe athletic department.

A nationally prominent soccer program is much more valuble to a school than a division 2 football program. And we can do mens and womens soccer, plus lacrosse, at the highest oevel for what we are losing in football every year.

It is common sense at this point.

You can thank the majority donors from football for the West End Zone project. A $10 million donation from a football donor & Howie Long $1 million. Plenty more. So when other sports are using that state of the art strength & conditioning center they can thank football that you want to de-emphasize.

I have nothing against any Villanova sport nor will I sit back and watch someone who has little knowledge of the program take shots at it constantly.

You are entitled to your ignorant opinions. Just go back to the soccer forum & express them there.

Do we get $11 mill donations every year? No.

Those two donations dont even cover two seasons of villanova football.

Hey, i like the progam, i root for the kids, i just think it can be done differently. I think there are other sports that can bring more good will, recognition, and prestige to our overall athletic program rather than division 2 football.

Feel free to disagree.

Please understand that time & time again the majority, if not all the other posters, here have voiced their dissatisfaction with you continuously bringing up this topic over & over again.

That is the point you keep on ignoring is that our group of loyal football fans don't wish to continue to engage in your topic of discussion.

We all are fans of Villanova football & we believe the program is just fine the way it is currently.

Football expenses minus donations/endowment/revenue from FBS games/etc. has never been revealed to any of us. You only cite the gross cost of running the program.

128 schools including many of our fine academic schools play in the FCS with similiar budgets.

There are reasons why the leaders at Villanova have chosen to fund soccer & lacrosse at levels that you are not satisfied.

You come on here to agitate us. We don't want to debate you time & time again.

The previous site monitor banned you & your 10 or so other usernames from here.

It's obvious you have taken the opportunity to annoy most of us here taking advantage of the change from Eric to Mike.

Good thread. I agree that we should re-prioritize our athletic department and focus on sports where we compete at the highest level. FCS football garners no interest in the Villanova community and costs way to much money. Its insanity at this point.

Mike the admin.: take him out. Thanks.

Looks like Craven has lost interest in whatever is left of this site. Can't believe Rivals allows the Benchwarmers board to be turned into a porn site.
Scout board welcomes all stragglers from this pathetic site.

Craven is the worst. Site turned into pornhub overnight. Even if he is banning the offender, he still leaves the posts up.
