'Nova Nation wishes Mikal Bridges a happy 19th birthday on Sunday, August 30. Just one of the reasons why he took the redshirt year as he was just 17 when classes started last year.
I just saw in the news that former New York Islanders head coach Al Arbour passed away at the age of 83. Although I am a Flyers fan,I always had great respect for the way his teams played and those teams he had that won four consecutive Stanley Cups from 1980-83 were really good because of how talented they were and the fact they had such great balance throughout that whole team. Hard to believe that we are losing a lot of sports legends.
much better chance he lands at Nova than Lamar Stevens.
Absolutely blew up this summer!
Potential top 50 player according to numerous sources I spoke with today.
just set my team. I went with star power over looking for the good deals. Paying $9 mill for a guy like Pirlo probably isn't the best idea, but selling tickets and t-shirts is important too.
Other than utilizing Stubhub, will we Nova fans have any shot at tickets for this game? I would like to book a flight but don't feel comfortable doing so without tickets. And I don't know Howie well enough to call in any favors.
The Villanova Alumni Association and The Athletic Fund present

Construction Underway on West End Zone Project in Villanova Stadium New facility will be a home for the Wildcats football team and will benefit all student-athletes
Rendering of the West End Zone building in Villanova Stadium July 6, 2015Photo Gallery VILLANOVA, Pa.--It was with a great deal of excitement that construction began in and around Villanova Stadium this week on the West End Zone building, an $18 million project which will create a brand new home for the Wildcats football team. Construction will last over a year on the facility, which will benefit all Villanova student-athletes with a centralized athletic performance center. Fans can return to villanova.com each month during construction to learn more about the project and for construction updates. All new photos during construction will be posted to the same photo gallery, which can be accessed via the link at the top of this release. "The West End Zone facility is one of the most impactful projects undertaken by Villanova Athletics," Director of Athletics Vince Nicastro said. "This facility will literally have a positive influence on every one of our programs and student-athletes, and will serve to improve their development both in competition and in the classroom." All gifts made towards the West End Zone Project are part of the $600 million university-wide capital campaign, including a one million dollar gift made by Howie and Diane Long. In recognition of their gift, the University will name the weight room in the new facility "The Howie Long Strength Training Center." In addition, the football program will name its annual top defensive honor "The Howie Long Defensive Player of the Year Award." To date, there has been $15 million raised for the West End Zone Project. Additional donations can be made by contacting Jeremy Wang, Executive Director of the Villanova Athletic Fund, by e-mail at jeremy.wang@villanova.edu or in the office at 610-519-4566. The Villanova Stadium West End Zone Project will add on to the Jake Nevin Field House by creating a new facility that will serve as home to the football program while also providing important amenities to meet the growing athletic performance demands for student-athletes across Villanova's 24 varsity sports. The facility will supply a state-of-the-art athletic training center and "The Howie Long Strength Training Center," while other amenities will include a new football locker room, coaches' offices, equipment room, academic support, a 100-seat meeting room and a reception/training table area.
"The West End Zone Project will not only be a game changer for the entire Athletic Department, it will also elevate Villanova Football on many levels," said Wildcat head coach Andy Talley. "The locker room, offices, meeting space and academic center will provide us with one of the top facilities in all of FCS Football."
After their football coach was blasted when giving a speech last week......What is alcohol doing there in the first place??
I wonder where Jay keeps his stash when he needs a little nip at work.......
Off-season type of poll. We've seen the Big East for 2 seasons now, and have a better feel where we fit in the whole conference dynamic - we're part of the top-6, and then there's everyone else. FS1 ratings were markedly better in year 2 over year 1, and are continuing to improve.
I also know we haven't escaped the first weekend over the past 5 seasons. This board has proven to be VERY pragmatic and realistic with poll's like this. Curious as to the temperature......
