This is what has happened around basketball at every level, including the NBA. Read what it says about mis-matches and skills. Specifically the 4 spot. Amile was a 3 man right. No, he's a 5 and on the bench more-and-more. He's a back-up 5.

"Winslow is a big key for them," Utah Utes coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "… Certainly the last eight games, I believe that he's starting and posing a threat as an undersized 4-man, really athletic, you know -- supremely talented guy, like a lot of guys on Duke's roster are."
Nobody else is quite like Winslow, who averages 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds and is easily Duke's most versatile player.
Amile Jefferson started 26 games at power forward for Duke. And while he's a rebounder and tough defender, opponents don't have to fear him offensively. They do when Winslow is in the lineup at the 4.

Winslow a PF?

Don Cherry Receives CAA Top Academic Award

All American LB Cherry has been selected CAA Football's 2014 Academic #1. The CAA puts together a list of academic leaders. A 3.0 cum is necessary. From that list of 205 players Cherry was voted #1. Cherry is a finance major in VSB with a 3.38 GPA. He has been a three-time member of the Dean's List and was named Villanova's Student -Athlete of the Month in December. "Don Cherry is the epitome of what a student athlete should be," said Villanova head coach Andy Talley. "He is a true All American who is truly deserving of this honor." Cherry was joined by QB John Robertson as two of just ten members of the 2014 All CAA First Team to be named Academic All Conference. Twenty Villanova Wildcats were selected for academic honors by the Conference:
WR Anthony DeCamillo
DB Cameron McCurry
QB Chris Polony
TE Doug Turrell
WR Jacob Gribb
OL Jake Prus
P John Hinchen
WR Kevin Gulas
DB Matt McCann
TE/LS Morgan Craig
OL Peter Sotiriou
DB Robert Rolle
OL Ross Hall
TE Ryan Morris
K Steve Wyler
LB T.J. White

DL Tanoh Kpassagnon
LB Travis Clark
I first read this good news on VU Hoops .com
Villanova tied with James Madison for the third most academic selections behind Delaware (28) and UNH (23).
I expect Cherry and Nova's other players from the Nutmeg state to be super-pumped on September 3rd.

Lady Cats on All BE

Coyer made first team; Leer made the second team;
Louin made the All Freshmen Team; Taylor Holeman
was the best 6th man.

Caroline Coyer led the team in ppg/game, minutes played,
assists, and steals. She was second in rebounds. Her sister
is also a very good player.

To those of you who don't think women hoops
or golf, you probably have never seen Caroline on the court or
Lexi Thompson on the course.

Fishes and loaves and loaves and loaves

Brunson accomplished his mission of an Illinois State title dropping 39 in title game. Kind of remarkable , he just gets it done. He doesn't really have another real crazy standout teammate , I think maybe there is a mid major type on his team but nothing that jumps out at you. In addition Rackovic's team won their state title. I'm not sure if we're are still interested in him but I know he is still interested in us. My uncle Chicago hoops guru Taps Gallagher and author of the book Stolen Glory ( about 72 Olympic team) loves Rackovic enough he was telling me possible one and done guy ( I don't know about that but) Rackovic has some real big Dogs on his trail. Rackovic feels he could get run , right away at Nova and apparently is much more polished offensively then Delaney. I'm not sure if landing Spellman has drawn our importance levels elsewhere but kid can play

Will this be the last Final 4 to be held in Indy?

Emmert seems to have some concern over the recent legislation in Indiana. The NCAA has stepped up its effort on inclusion in recent years and has already set a precedent for avoiding holdings events in certain states for social/political reasons (they don't hold championship events in South Carolina and Mississippi because the states fly confederate flags). Should Indiana not reverse its course, I would not be surprised if this is the last Final 4 in Indianapolis. I expect this to be a story at this year's Final 4.
