Alkins...

He is not short on confidence, for sure! Said he would be still uncommitted this time next year. Interesting that CT super prospect Mustapha Heron (from my grammar school of course!) will be joining him on the Rens. Word is that he committed to Pitt early because his dad played with Slice. With Slice at St. Johns, could Mustapha decommit and join the party in Queens - I wouldn't bet against it! Mustapha, Rawle and Diallo would be a heck of a start - yikes!

OT: Tampa/St. Petersburg

My brother gets married this fall. He lives just outside Boston and is a huge Red Sox fan, and the Sox are playing in Tampa the weekend after Labor Day.

Seems to make a lot of sense to try to do the entire weekend in Tampa in his honor. Though I've heard great things, I've never been, other than through the airport once.

Anyone ever spent time down there? I'd appreciate recommendations on food, lodging, golf, and best areas to stay for a small group of guys (I'd say 6-8, absolute max). I don't think we'd want a full golf package, but one round at a solid course would be great.

Any other sites/experiences/etc. more than welcome as well. I know we had a few away games against USF in the past, and I'm hoping to draw on the board's wisdom. Thanks much in advance.

A COUPLE THINGS ON DYLAN

HOW GOOD IS HE....DAM GOOD......A HUGE HUGE LOSS IN MY OPINION..........THIS IS WHAT DYLAN WOULD LIKE TO FIND......A SCHOOL THAT WILL HAND HIM THE REIGNS AS A POINT GUARD...OR LEAD GUARD, OR PRIMARY BALL HANDLER.....ALL SEMANTICS..........A TEAM WHERE HE CAN START, AND PLAY AROUND THIRTY MINUTES PER GAME......AND A TEAM WILLING TO MEET THAT CRITERIA AND GET ONLY ONE YEAR OUT OF DYLAN ......THUS IN EFFECT..BY PASSING EVERY OTHER GUARD ON THEIR TEAM THEY RECUITED.......ALL FOR ONE YEAR.........SOUNDS LIKE AN IMPOSSIBLE SCENARIOE TO MEET........WELL GUESS WHAT....I HEARD THERE ARE ALREADY UP TO TEN.....HIGH MAJOR PROGRAMS..... LINED UP ....IN HIGH MAJOR CONFERENCES.........WHO WOULD TAKE HIM IN A HEARTBEAT..........STEVE T IS RIGHT....OREGON AND ILLINIOS IARE TWO OF THOSE TEAMS........BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHERS.........HE IS ONE COVETED PLAYER IN A SITUATION WHERE A TEAM NEEDS TO TOTALLY COMMIT TO HIM......JUST FOR ONE YEAR......AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHER PAYERS THEY HAVE RECUITED......THERE ARE RIDICULOUS MYTHS ON THIS BOARD....IF SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING ENOUGH...ON THIS BOARD,,,,,OTHERS BEGIN TO BELEVE IT......DYLAN IS AN OUTSTANDING PASSER......NOT GOOD.....OUTSTANDING........HE HAS A GOOD HANDLE..WITH SOME BREAKDOWN ABILITY.....HIS HANDLE IMPROVED OVER THE PAST YEAR.........DYLAN DOES NOT NOT NOT COMIMIT MANY TURNOVERS....ANOTHER MYTH.....IN FACT HIS ASSIST TO TURNOVER RATIO IS COMPARABLE WITH RYAN ARCIDACANO.....OUR POINT GUARD.....CHECK HIS STATS...... THEY ARE OUTSTANDING......AGAIN HIS ASSIST TO TURNOVER RATIO WAS TERRIFIC......AND IT WAS ENNIS PLACED IN A POSITION WHERE HE HAD TO CREATE IN THE LANE WHEN OTHERS COULD NOT..........DYLAN HAD THE SECOND BEST ASSIST TO TURNOVER RATIO IN THE PAST TEN YEARS FOR A NOVA GUARD...... LET ME REPEAT THAT......DYLAN HAD THE SECOND BEST ASSIST TO TUNOVER RATIO OUT OF ALL THE GUARDS IN THE JAY WRIGHT ERA........ENNIS SHOOTING ABILITY IWAS ALSO VERY SOLID......AND WILL GET BETTER.........HOW GOOD WAS DYLAN ENNIS........GOOD ENOUGH TO START AND BE AN IMPACTFUL PLAYER....ON THE SECOND RANKED TEAM IN AMERICA THIS YEAR........THATS HOW GOOD......YOUR GONNA SEE ABOUT TEN HIGH MAJOR SCHOOLS IN HIGH MAJOR CONFERENCES WITH HIGH MAJOR INTEREST.........AND REMEMBER.....VILLANOVA HAS PLACED SOME LIMITATIONS ON WHICH SCHOOLS HE CAN TRANSFER TO.......OR THE LIST WOULD BE ALOT MORE.......FOR THOSE ANGRY WITH DYLAN.....GROW UP.......THAT KID GAVE EVERY OUNCE OF EFFORT EVERY SECOND HE WAS ON THE COURT......HE OWES NOBODY AHNYTHING......HE ALREADY GAVE US......ALL HE HAD.

OT: attt markgi...or other old hockey guys..hockey question...

What year did they drop hockey as a Varsity sport?....when I played in the late 60's I think we were a club, but played in something called the ecac maybe?.....we played Rutgers,Lehigh,Lafayette,Bucknell, ocassionally a Military Academy and others.
We practiced at that tiny Radnor rink at the end of campus which was convenient, but was only about 170'x50'...so when we got on a regulation rink (like Cherry Hill),it felt like a 'lake"....I assume they still have a Club?,hope so.
