Can anyone recommend a good generator that can be used for tailgating purposes? At the last Eagles game we tried to run power for a DJ set up with speakers though the car adapter but anytime the bass kicked in the power was shot. I have no knowledge/experience with these so it's like reading Chinese trying to look into the specs on Home Depot's web site. I have no idea what the price range is. I see some for over $1,000 and some as low as $100. What kind of wattage should I be looking for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine has one of the little Hondas that he uses for situations like this. I'll get you the model number. It's whisper quiet and sips fuel. When the power goes out, it's enough for him to run a tv/dvd player, and keep the fridge on so his beer stays cold. It's all you need.

Awesome, thanks - that would be perfect.

Having a DJ setup in a tailgating parking lot is a crime against humanity. Why should the people around you have to listen to your "sick beats"?

I disagree. It was a lot of fun last Monday night and he got a lot of compliments and potential gigs from it. He's not like a bar mitzvah DJ.

I would have brought the speakers :)
He actually has a really nice PA system - his dad is maestro and they have pretty much anything imaginable when it comes to music and music related equipment. It's just that we didn't have the correct power source.

Was it "ethnic" music?
No - not an Armenian friend. Most Armenian's I know that DJ on the side are your typical pool party, bar mitzvah, sweet 16 DJs. My friend's brother remixes EDM song etc - things like that. I am not the most musically inclined person but I think he has talent.

He and his brother are both very gifted musicians, but it's not surprising because their Dad is a Julliard trained pianist and has conducted concerts all over the world (he is Romanian). He has a concert at the Kimmel Center on Friday actually.

Nardi, the proper response to the post regarding compliments and potential gigs....is "of course he did".

Love the excuse of having the best equipment but simply not having enough power

What a dipsh!t

You are talking about the best of the best, the EU2000. Totally worth it. Guy I tailgate with ran a 42in TV, satellite dish, some cookware, and some other stuff off it. Very quiet.
