I doubt Phil and the Knicks believe that. I'm sure a healthy Melo and a couple of FAs (they do have cap space) has them thinking they can be a playoff team. But who knows...

Knicks aint trading that 4th overall pick for picks that could end up God knows where. If the Sixers add 2 guys in the top 4 this yr....and Saric comes over...and Embiid comes over the team could end drafting in the middle of the first round. And even if Saric of Embiid doesnt play the team will be markedly improved and move near the back of the lottery. Also no telling where the Lakers pick will be....or the Heat pick. Too much uncertainty to move a sure thing in this years pick unless you literally gave them all 4 picks...and Hinkie aint doing that.
