OT: Recent Villanova ChemE looking for contacts

I have been looking to help a recent VU ChemE grad find an opportunity and wanted to reach out to those on the board who might be in a position to hire or help him navigate the HR process. This young alum is a terrific young person who would be open to any role that would utilize his ChemE degree. I would be glad to send you this alum's resume for further review and consideration. I can be reached via email on gerald.j.quinn@gmail.com

Thanks in advance for your help!!! Need to plug into the power of the NovaNetwork!!!

And for the record....this request is not for my daughter (VU ChemE '16)...she was fortunate enough to land a job with JP Morgan Chase and started last week.

Big East AD takes over Committee Chair, Some Tweaks to Selection Process Coming

http://collegebasketball.nbcsports....W @NBCSports&utm_tags=srm[college basketball]

Creighton AD Bruce Rasmussen will head 2017 committee. Top overall seed will have ability to select opening weekend location, while metrics for selection/seeding will be reviewed.

Doubt this will have any noticeable effect on next year's selections, but nice to have a Big East guy heading things as the conference continues to struggle for national respect. And it's nice to see the NCAA open to looking at the process and trying to figure out the best metrics to select and seed.

Bringing more heat: 2019 5-star Scottie Lewis

Since you guys seemed rather appreciative of my last post, figured I'd bring some more heat on 2019 five-star wing Scottie Lewis.

I am transcribing some interviews and came across some good stuff from Scottie on Villanova. I'm a big Scottie Lewis fan as he's one of the most fun players to watch, regardless of class. He's a tall, lanky wing that can jump out of the gym and also has a high motor. Right now, I think his high school and AAU teammate Bryan Antoine is the more polished of the two, but I like Lewis' upside a little better. Obviously it's super early for him, but Villanova and Maryland along with Florida, UCLA and a few others are jumping out to him at this time. Lewis most recently took part in team camps at Maryland and Villanova and was also at Florida's team camp earlier this spring.

On his recruitment:

"We just got back from Villanova camp and Maryland camp. We’ll go for a couple of football games next October. It’s a lot of fun and it means we’re on the right track and doing the right things."

On Villanova and Jay Wright:

"When we (Jay Wright) talked individually, he told me the things he loves about me and loves about my game. He says to keep those things in my heart, keep a high motor and keep playing defense while also progressing and getting bigger and building out my body."

Know your foe: A Threat to the Villanova Community

It pains me to say this, but the newest representative of Villanova, and the face to the greater Yahoo community, Joshua Naso is nothing more than a convicted felon who disturbingly destroyed the historic Mood’s Covered Bridge in Bucks County.

http://articles.mcall.com/2004-12-16/news/3567566_1_historic-bridge-restitution-sentenced

Mr. Naso committed a needless, thoughtless crime against the greater Bucks County community, that took a treasured historic bridge for no apparent reason.

It's clear that in the rush to find any writer willing to take the position, Mr. Craven has made a poor choice, and did not do the proper background check that even a quick search would reveal.

I call on Mr. Craven to remove Mr. Naso from his affiliation with the greater Villanova community, and to disavow arson of historic places.

Please join me in my call.

Thank you,

NP - Class of 1994, Bucks County Born and Raised.

Hammering Hamier Wright

from all of the write ups, this is the guy that I want to come in to fill Bridges shoes. 6-8. Can defend multiple positions on the floor. Can shoot from deep and has a handle. Feel like this guy is undervalued nationally due to him being young for his grade. Similar to DaDa, I think this kid will continue to develop into a stud as he fills and rounds out his game. Hope we can pull him into the family and redshirt him a la Bridges.

Update on Arch from Summer League

I have some ties to the Spurs organization, so after two games of Summer League games I reached out to a few people I know who work with the Austin Spurs, which is the NBA Developmental team for San Antonio. Here is what was relayed back to me late last night.

"There's a reason Arcidiacono was signed to a two-year partially guaranteed deal by Buford (GM). He's a smart dude. Picks up things well, understands what we're trying to do. Athletically, there are some issues. We're not sure how well he'll do as a 1-on-1 defender against point guards. He isn't tall enough to play off-guard on a consistent basis. His best attribute is getting us into our offense. A lot of young guys hesitate and don't make that first pass. He makes his first pass and gets directly into our set. He was well coached in college, that's obvious. He's only taken two shots for us. We'll see him in Austin to start the season."

Nothing incredibly ground-breaking, but the prevailing thought is that Arch will play for the development team this season and that the Spurs want to hold on to his rights as he rounds out his game.
