Mister Snider Remembered

Yeah, now he is just talking out of his ass. Mr. Snider is beloved in Philadelphia. All you need to know is that everyone calls him Mr. Sinder, not Ed Snider.

I guess it never occurred to him to say "Please, call me Ed?"

Grown men with their annoying monotone Canadian accents groveling before "Mister Snider" was very bizarre.

Exactly - this kind of silly deification would make 99.9% people uncomfortable. The .1% are old school mafia guys who won the olive war or Donald Trump. Even Trump usually refers to himself as Trump. And I have no idea on why the guy who brought you the worst cable service in history, and couldn't produce a winner in 4 decades was so beloved. We have guy just like that here - James Dolan. No one's calling him Mr anything, I assure you.

For me it's simple - I grew up watching the Flyers and always heard the players, announcers, coaching staff etc call him "Mr. Sinder", so it stuck. That is what he is known as in Philly, I see nothing wrong with it.

Can I get a ruling on Maestro's? Is it ok to call them Dr. all the time?
