Trumo VP + SCOTUS Picks 5/18 + Riots - 5/27

Back on topic, I'd say John Miller or John Baron are both probably leading the pack of Trumo VP choices at this point. I don't think he can rely on anyone else to really have his back.

All of the conversation about potential VP choices may be interesting to speculate about prior to the convention. But, while it may be fun, it's pretty meaningless. Only the inner circle around Trumo knows whose being considered. I'm confident Carson's release of names over the weekend was done to throw off the media.

What are your thoughts on John Baron?

Then what was the point of this thread?

I don't understand what the rationale behind that strategy would be? Is Carson not really inner circle? Is everything a subterfuge for Trumo?

Every VP selection search has been surrounded by so-called leaks. It's not specific to the Trumo campaign.

Brilliant move by trumo having carson leak the list including little marco just so trumo could come out and say that little marco is definitely not on the list.

If any of the former candidates take the VP job, they have literally zero self respect or dignity left.

Is it be possible that Sarah could be making a return appearance as Carson, who is high up on the VP selection team, is reporting. God what the hell is wrong with these people?

ball, I can't believe you haven't figured it out. Little Marco, Lyin Ted and Twitch Kasich are on the list so Trumo can say he's reaching out to unify the party.

Trumo puts out his list of 11 SCOTUS nominees. All are very conservative.

Riots again today at Trumo's San Diego rally. Does this hurt his chances to win or does it galvanize even more support for him?

Sarah is obviously not on any list.

The riots may help. They can't hurt, but they do screw up the accuracy of the polls. If Trump is within the margin of error vs. Hillary, it really means he is way ahead.

Many voters are not admitting they are for Trump because they don't want to be labeled racists (anti-Spanish and/or anti-Muslim.) However, the same people want a Wall and they want to be secure from terrorists.

I can't tell you how many people I've run into who are voting for Trumo but are afraid to make it known for the reasons you site, Banjo. It's pretty sad that you can't say you're supporting a candidate for fear of being bashed by progressives and called all sorts of names or having labels attached to you that are not at all accurate. (Kind of what goes on here and on BW) It's exactly that situation which is one of the motivations for people voting for him.

So you don't think Trumo has displayed sentiments of racism, intolerance and misogyny? And you don't think by supporting a man who routinely belittles almost everyone makes you anything?

My guess is, you speak mostly with older whites. Trumo is polling well with them, there is no question about that. Is that enough to win an election. That's the question.

Actually, I don't speak with mostly older whites. But, it's a fact that older whites mostly vote for Dems (check out Hillart's demographic support.) I don't agree that Trump has displayed sentiments of racism. That's the spin the left puts on his comments about securing the border. It's a fact that illegal immigration has caused the Mexican drug cartel to spill into our country. Check out the murder of Kate Steinle. She was murdered by an illegal Mexican alien. The bottom line is simple and is Trumo's basic point. Either we have a country or we don't. Either we enforce immigration law or we don't. If you don't like the immigration laws, contact your elected officials and ask them to change them. Don't just support breaking the law.

That is not at all a fact. Seniors vote largely republican and have for many years. Very steady trend since the early 90s. White seniors, even more so. Can I ask, if you are not speaking with older white, and i ask because you mentioned yo live in a retirement community, who else are you talking to and where? Are you aware of Trumo's polling number amount Hispanics? Blacks? Women? Educated whites?

Far as illegals, the flow has actually slowed in recent years. You can cite an illegal murdering someone as cause for alarm, but the fact that we can post to just a handful of murders by illegals in a country that had over 14,000 murders and manslaughters in 2014 tells me something. Tells me that illegals are not any more likely to murder someone than your next door neighbors might be. They might even be far less likely to murder someone, statistically speaking. There are a dozen or so examples of Trump being openly racists if you care to look. That's not a big secret - from the Central Park 5 to black dealers at his casinos, to mexicans are rapists, to not renouncing David Duke, to his own father being unapologetic about discrimination. It's not really hard to find these.

We can agree that illegal immigration can be improved upon, but that is not exactly a new issue. Reagan was in favor of amnesty. In terms of the major problems plaguing this country, I'd put immigration near the middle of the pack, maybe lower. Just not a major thing by any reasonable metric. But the thing for me that gets me about Trumo is just how unintelligent he comes across. If you read his comments, and didnt know it was him saying it, you would say this man was not well educated at all. Most unpresidential candidate I have ever seen. To be honest, the guy sounds like a buffoon almost all the time. I am little bit bummed we do not have Joe Biden in the is race for that reason. Two guys that at any moment can say the stupidest thing you've ever heard in your life. That would have been fun.

As long a I have you here - did you ever find anything current about 'clean coal'? You said you would do some research and get back to the newsgroup. Did i miss it? Or did you come to the conclusion that it really doesn't exist, and will not ever exist in all likelihood.

A99 - much of what you say is true, possibly all of it. However, it is more than an election. It is a movement, which involves people of all ages. Yes, primarily white people who have had enough of the incompetence, anti-american sentiment, lack of accountability, the open border, illegal executive orders, and racism ("Trayvon could have been my son") emanating from the White House.

The majority of the country does not want another 4 years of Obama or the Liberal Loons (vote for me and I will give you free stuff and pander my ass off in the process.)

For all his faults, Trump is actually the best option on the table and that is why he will become the next President.

Obviously, we have very divergent views. So, for the sake of not having an endless back and forth, I think we can just agree to disagree. As far as clean coal is concerned, I never said I would do research and "get back to the newsgroup." But, a simple Google search takes you to this government site http://energy.gov/fe/science-innovation/clean-coal-research/coal-liquids I originally posted the government's own info on it which you rejected. So, just another topic where we can agree to disagree. One last thing, though. It is ridiculous to call Trumo stupid. He has built a huuuuge real estate empire which he certainly couldn't have done if he were stupid.

That link you posted basically says that clean coal is not anywhere close to being a reality economically. And that no one is producing it for the most part.

o

Again, currently, the data refutes almost everything you say here. Literally every last taking point you mention is not supported by facts or data. Look, I dislike hillart as much as the next one. The biggest problems we face though are none of the things you point out. ( for example - executive orders are not illegal, and he's actually done fewer of them than most recent presidents. Easy to find that data). IMO the gov't is for sale and corrupt as the day is long. Trumo won't help that. Neither of them will. They may be in different tanks, but let's make no mistake they are both in the tank.

Please. If your father was a Manhattan real-estate mogul worth $200,000,000 who got you into/paid for your Wharton MBA, had you take over his business with access to millions of dollars in lines of credit, with an entire staff at your beck and call, even you would have a hard time failing at real estate speculation.

I didnt say he was stupid, i said when he speaks he sounds like a complete buffoon. Terrible sentences, no sense of fact or policy, just crazy remarks that make little sense. In this campaign he has done some very smart things - but they are predominately in the department of assailing his rivals with childish monikers that have stuck. Also, if you put numbers to his policy, the deficits are very hard to fathom. They're yuuuuuuuuuge.

Obama's approval ratings are actually some of the highest of his presidency right now. He's far more popular than either candidate. He's won two elections 'handily'. I think you might be in a bubble. This is not my personal opinion. It's just data. You're 'movement' is certainly happening now is some circles. Question is are there enough white people to elect a president. If anything, Bernie Sander's numbers, far better than Trumo and Hillart, tell us that people are not in fact tired Obama policy all that much.

Good example about what i mean when i said he sounds like a buffoon. From a recent rally he gave in CA.

“There is no drought,” he told a Fresno rally packed with Californians, who have watched their state’s agriculture industry suffer from years of excruciating dryness.

But none of that seemed to faze the bombastic billionaire, who insisted California’s “insane” water problem stemmed from state officials denying water to farmers and instead funneling it out into the ocean in an attempt to protect “a certain kind of three-inch fish.”

“We're going to solve your water problem. You have a water problem that is so insane. It is so ridiculous where they're taking the water and shoving it out to sea," Trump said at the Friday night Fresno rally.

The apparent weather expert’s solution?

“If I win, believe me, we're going to start opening up the water so that you can have your farmers survive," he barked. “There is no drought. They turn the water out into the ocean.”

Where did you get the $200,000,000 figure? I believe that is an exaggerated number which was not the springboard to Trump's success.

Trump made his "bones" on the Commodore Hotel deal getting unprecedented tax breaks from NYC. He made 144 million $ on that one deal - he was 27 years old at the time.
His father helped him get started with a one million $ loan, which Trump has turned into billions.
Trump has accomplished far greater things in real estate and business than his father ever did.

Did his father get him into Wharton? I have to think think so. I went to HS with Trump.
Does he sound like a buffoon often? No question. Does he tweet like a junior HS kid? Absolutely. Does he say things (like she's ugly) that no intelligent person would say? Incredibly, yes.

However, he is Pro-America far more so than any other candidate. That fact and 8 years of Obama have given him the keys to the White House.

I think he's pro Trump more than he's pro America. I say this because when you flush out what little policy he's has talked about, it's detrimental to the country. You obviously do not like Obama, but the country is not in full agreement with you on that. The more these three candidates talk, the higher his approval ratings seem to go.

Obama's approval rating varies between 49 - 52%. I have to think that's his base talking since he beat Romney with 52+% of the vote. They are never going to change unless their entitlement package does.

However, I do not believe Hillary is going to be able to run, but even if the FBI gives her a pass, she won't have the turnout Obama had in 08 and 12. That leaves Bernie or Biden. A Socialist and a third term of Obama.

Regardless of what the polls may presently indicate, I believe a new anti-Obama, anti-Liberal, pro-America "majority", will come out in force - unlike in 2012 - and give the keys to Trump.

That's what everyone is missing here, banjo. At this point in the election season Reagan, who also tapped into the bitter discontent among a silent majority of voters, was down double digits in the polls. Even with the demographic shift in our society, that is a very encouraging sign for Trumo.

I am linking a CNBC article which fills in the context of what Trumo said albeit in a rather clumsy manner.

His point, which has been well documented by the media for at least a year is that water is being diverted to protect some little fish while farmers have had their irrigation water shut off. More totally stupid Barry rules!

Have you noticed that it's always the "Liberals", who claim to be Progressive, who riot and/or encourage rioting, who destroy public and private property, burn down buildings, destroy small local businesses, and injure others, including Police Officers, in the process?

Have you noticed it's always the Democrats who give the thugs a pass? Even praise and invite some of them to the White House?

Not the America we once knew.
