The athletic future for northeast private schools is the beautiful game of futbol. Time for Villanova to make its move.

Will there be any special or restricted parking on Sat......since I don't have reserved parking, usually park on Lancaster across from the Field House. I assume there will be a fee for parking, right? And assume you will be able to stay there for the football game......anything else we need to know?

A great second half wins. Trailing 21 - 10 the Flames came back to win 26 - 21. 4:30 next Saturday in our house.

I'd love to go, but can't. I'd be so disappointed to miss it. VU should copy Delaware's web-tv set-up. It would allow other's to see not only football, but a wide variety of men's & women's programs (basketball, soccer, LX, etc. I'm still bedazzled at the excellence of UD's web-tv ...

One of 3 invitees. Vad Lee of JMU finished 4th. The Eastern Washington QB, a redshirt Jr. is favored with Robby and Idaho State's QB competing for runner-up honors. Unlike some, I thought Robby's season was very good but not spectacular after he broke his left hand in the opener at Syracuse. As Robby himself said, he couldn't use his left hand to fend off tacklers until the cast came off late in the season. So what could have been 100 yard rushing performances were reduced to 60-80 yard games. And then there was the 10-9 stinker at Richmond. I like Robby's chances in 2015, and, provided we find a go-to reveiver to replace Poppy (Gulyas?), a kicker, and Lucas fully recovers, I like VU's chances of reaching the Finals in 2015. This year I will be happy with an Elite 8 or Final 4 finish. But focusing on the matter at hand, I think Cats caught a break with Liberty, a grinding offense as opposed to JMU's go-go style of play. Our DBs had best be on their A game. A timely interception or 3 would go a long way toward neutralizing what I assume will be Liberty's gaudy passing yardage total. And we should plan on matching their FG's with our TDs. Its dangerous to go into the playoffs without a kicker, but here we are.

The late Gene Bartow's athletic program has finally run out of gas. The Blazers, darlings of ESPN's infant years and onetime marquee program of the late lamented Sun Belt Conference will join the ranks of defunct sports programs. The Sun Belt was the first Conference to succomb to relegation through realignment. It wasn't to be the last.

Here is one example of lack of support for the FB program from the administration. What a great opportunity at the hoop game yesterday to show some highlights of the FB season on the big screen along with Walter Payton finalist John Robinson blah blah blah, and encourage people to come to the game. But, there was nothing. Would it have made a big difference in attendance? No, but it is a microcosm of the last thirty years. The program is merely tolerated.

He now takes his team to Jacksonville. Uh oh. A win in Jacksonville and a Villanova win brings him to our campus on Dec.13.
That game could be the start of another super sports weekend on campus as our hoops guys will play Temple on Sunday Dec. 14 at 2PM.
Sat Dec 6 at 1PM crush sju Sat Dec 6 at 4:30 beat Liberty to continue our march to another FCS Championship.
