Mike Craven

I wish you all the best with your future endeavors with Nova Nation. It is a tough site, but I believe you will do just fine. I want to wish you all the best here. While I will be heading over to scout, I am potentially thinking about using both sites. Everyone deserves a chance and I think you will do a plus job!

Here are a couple of questions for you:

1) I saw you mentioned Duval as a possibility for Nova, which I personally do not see. The questions with API and his academic background are a concern with me. He and his inner circle want the quickest road to the NBA, which I believe he will be in not to soon.

2) Do you know Villanova 's recruting pipeline? The interest we have in the DMV, Philly, and other areas. The relationships we have with Team Takeover, Team Final, and PSA Cardinals AAU teams, among other teams.

3) Overall, what is your background knowledge with Villanova Basketball? What's your background knowledge overall?

How do you finish the 2017 class?

The folks I've spoken to suggest Villanova has spots for two more players in this class. The big man is secured with Cosby-Roundtree. How does the ideal class end for Villanova? A ball handler and a wing scorer seem to be the obvious holes. Any prospects on the radar that scream "Villanova" to you guys?

Trevon Duval is a name I heard mentioned as a guard. The issue there could be eligibility. Prime Prep had a bad reputation in Texas before shutting down and it looks like Duval is affiliated with a program with a similar reputation. Wright and staff will/has done all the research necessary, I'm sure, but it is something to watch with Duval and any guys from that type of program like API.

TRUMP SUPPORTERS

PLEASE LIST FOR ME YOUR REAL NAME AND E MAIL ADDRESS IF YOU ARE ONE.........THERE IS A GROUP OF PSYCHIATRISTS BEING FLOWN IN FROM AROUND THE WORLD...TRUE STORY......THEY WANT TO DO A STUDY ON YOU IF YOU ARE A TRUMP SUPPORTER..A COMPONENT OF THE STUDY WILL BE RACISM.......ILL BE GLAD TO FORWARD YOUR NAME........MAN UP...LET THE LIST BEGIN......

Shaping up to be a good summer on 4.6

The newsgroup should be in good spirits and brightsiding throughout the summer months thanks to this victory.

Perhaps it will stir dmill out of his self imposed/court imposed exile

Perhaps the dimer will lose some of his cynicism

No doubt ball will be insufferable.

and maybe the CoPers won't spend much time convincing themselves that the phillies or eagles will be any good because the CoPers will be in a state of perpetual brightsiding

hope springs eternal

thank you all ...

... that was the most incredible thing I ever saw.

for 31 years I waited for this one night and we won our second title with the most epic shot in NCAA basketball history and every second of the wait was absolutely worth it.

Villanova is now among the top dozen programs in NCAA basketball history.

Every member of this team is now etched in Villanova basketball history.

The way this team marched through the bracket and beat four top 10 teams in a row ... was EPIC ... it established this group of players, coaches, and staff as the most dominant team in Villanova basketball history.

I want to thank each and every one of you on this board for participating in this wonderful community for the last nearly 20 years / 15 on rivals. I spent the majority of the weekend in the team hotel - hanging out with the people from this board who have become my lifelong friends ... hundreds of people from this board were in Houston and I enjoyed sharing this moment with all of you.

I have spent a good portion of the hours since Jenkins shot nestled into the basket crying tears of joy ... I am so happy for Jay Wright and this group of stellar people that no words can describe it.

Intro Letter - NovaIllustrated

My name is Mike Craven and welcome to NovaIllustrated. The next few months hold exciting changes and my hope is to keep everyone here along for the ride while adding new faces to the community as our coverage of basketball, recruiting and even some football gets rolling. There will undoubtedly be some road blocks and growing pains. I’m ready for the challenges surely coming and my only goal is and will always be to provide coverage worthy of your subscription.

I want this site to be a lot of things, many of which it already is thanks to a great job by the previous staff. We hope to live up to those standards while making it our own. I want the site to be informative. I want the site to encourage discussion. I want us to engage in honest and respectable debate. I want us to be the water cooler of Villanova sports. I want us to write solid pieces.

None of this will happen overnight. I need to put together a staff and formulate a true game plan to take the site to a new level. A lot of that is on me, but some of it is on the subscribers. I’m not going to walk in here with a lot of ego. This is your site, not mine. I believe the consumers should dictate the news, so tell me what you like and don’t like in a website like this. Give me suggestions. Do you want more stories on prospects? More previews for the upcoming basketball season? More football?

I graduated from college in 2007 and was hired as a small-town sports editor in a town outside of Austin, Texas soon after. In 2012, I joined Rivals to work for Orangebloods.com and to start BirdsUp.com, which covers UTSA athletics. On top of this gig, I’m still the publisher of BirdsUp.com, and I’m the senior writer at TexasFootball.com. My background is mostly in football, but I did cover the Spurs for a season for SBNation.

It’s uncomfortable for me to write about myself because it shouldn’t be the focal point. The content is of importance and I’m open to ideas on how to move this site forward. I pride myself on being reachable, so never hesitate to get at me on Twitter @CravenMike or in email at NovaIllustrated@gmail.com.
