Cameras

I've been taking a lot more pictures now that I have a baby boi. Mostly iPhone stuff, which really looks terrible when you blow it up (even with the new iPhone, just not happy with the picture quality). I have the original Sony DSC RX100, which takes what I consider really gr8 photos. But, it doesn't have WiFi/NFC so it's kind of a pain in the ass to wait until I get home, toss the memory card in the computer, download everything, re-upload it to Google photos, and then send them to people. So, I'm in the market for a new camera.

It looks like I can go whole-hog and get a DSLR, but those seem to be too much of a pain in the rear to carry around (esp with all your lenses and stuff) and most people who have these are real, actual photographers.

Another option is just getting the updated version of my point and shoot (DSC RX100iii or RX100iv), which is still the best compact camera ever, and has gotten a little more user friendly and now has WiFi so you can shoot the photos straight to your phone.

A third option is something in the middle, like a middle of the road mirrorless camera. It still has the interchangeable lens problems, but it's much less bulky, and being able to get different lenses could be good when he starts to play sports and stuff.

I also kind of need this to be user friendly for my wife, since she has zero photographic skills whatsoever. Even with my Sony, I can't impress upon her how to push the shutter halfway down to let it focus first, then take the picture. It's gotta have a quick autofocus and a decent "do-everything" automatic mode.

What does the benchwarmers hive mind have to say? I would prefer to spend less than a grand on whatever you guys dig up.

We all know Nova's outstanding defense will be hard hit by graduation. Thus defense recruits are a priority.
While the first two commits are offensive players (a QB with good size, and a elusive, quick RB )defense remains an important area. So two offers Edward "Isaiah" Wingfield 6 '0 180 cornerback The Lawrenceville School .Offers from BC, Navy, URI, and a bunch of Ivy's

Wimbledon

The guy Federer is playing is wearing a Federer Nike shirt, with the "RF" covered up by a patch. This has to be a first in sports history. Wearing clothes with your opponent's name on it.

As for the actual tournament - anything but a Djoker 5th straight major would be a surprise tho I suppose if Murray is going to beat him in a final, it's here.

Sixers Draft/Trade Rumors

A few tidbits that I have read recently.

-Mostly flimsy (IMO) trade rumor out of CHI. Noel to Bulls for D. Rose, Gibson, Dunleavy, and the #14. The idea surrounding this is that CHI wants to build around Butler and clear a lot of space. Those three guys make a about 35 mil between them next year and would FA after that. I'm not a fan of this. However, you add vets like that and you probably win some games, which helps the younger guys whoa re the future. Then, you could always let them go after next year and still have a lot of CAP SPACE. Maybe, D. Rose re-invents himself again. Not sure that's going to happen, tho.

-The Sixers apparently like K. Dunn and are trying to get back into the top of the draft says K. Bucher. I've heard this a couple of times, too.

-It looks like the pick being Simmons is gaining more momentum as time passes. Today, Chad Ford said if the draft was tonight he'd be the pick in a landslide. I'm very cool with this.

Also, I'd prefer that Okafor gets moved before Noel and if that happens I want them to do it for a high pick in this year's draft or a younger type vet who could grow with the team.

UNC List of "Microaggressions"

Under the “Religion” tab, the guidebook says organizing vacations around Christian holidays further “centers the Christian faith and minimizes non-Christian spiritual rituals and observances.”

With regard to “gender” microaggressions, the guidelines discourage comments such as “I love your shoes!” to female colleagues or otherwise complimenting the appearance of women.

To compliment a woman on her appearance, the guidance warns, is essentially to say, “I notice how you look and dress more than I value your intellectual contributions. How you look is really important.”

The guide also discourages staff from inviting others to play a “round of golf,” which assumes “employees have the financial resources/exposure to a fairly expensive and inaccessible sport.”

On the matter of race, telling someone that you “don’t see color” is equivalent to “minimizing/denying a person of color’s racial/ethnic experiences,” the guide says.

Microaggressions against “sexual orientation” include using the terms “husband” or “boyfriend” when addressing a female colleague, or “wife” or “girlfriend” when addressing a male colleague, instead of the asexual “partner” or “spouse.”

This, the taxpayer-funded university warns, sets “the expectation that people do not identify as LGBTQ until they say otherwise or disclose their sexual orientation.”

At faculty award ceremonies, be sure not to ask honorees to “stand and be recognized” for their achievements, which assumes “that everyone is able in this way and ignores the diversity of ability in the space.”

what the hell are we turning into!?
