Interesting read - if "one-and-done" is good, how 'bout 2-and-done?

Featuring sarcastic definitions of ncaa/nba and college bb and its athletes. For example:

Lawyers/agents -- NBA players pay them to negotiate and advocate for their interests. Universities hire them to protect their interests and defend them in court. Coaches at all levels hire them to negotiate and advocate for their interests. NBA owners keep them on retainer to protect their interests. Student-athletes should be barred from consulting with them; they are amateurs without interests to protect, so why waste their time? Keep your head in those books, son.

NCAA -- The good shepherd. Billion-dollar "non-profit organization." Steward of "amateurism."

Interesting quote:

"WITH BOTH SIDES able to opt out of the current CBA this December, one-and-done's biggest political problem is simple. In the minds of its boosters, a yearlong delay isn't nearly lengthy enough.

College administrators -- who compete every year to live at the mercy of a transitory teenager -- complain to Silver that the current rule is "a disaster," upending the continuity of a coach-driven sport. NBA owners, meanwhile, want prospects with even more comprehensive résumés, further reducing the risk that they, like Jordan, will find themselves unable to pass on Kwame Brown.

This is why Silver has declared, in venues ranging from GQ to the Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, that one of his top CBA priorities come winter will be to raise the age minimum to 20."

The one I love:

"In 2016, a season largely defined by senior stars, the 10th national champ since the introduction of the NBA's age limit staged one half of the best national title games ever, with arguably the greatest buzzer-beater of all time.

Villanova had the least projected NBA talent of any national champion ever.

SoP political scandals

There's been a solid stream of SoP scandals over the last several years. Let's recap:
1. Kids for Cash - judges in NEPA getting bribes from private juvenile prison owners to unjustly send teens away
2. Vince Fumo - general scumbag - bribes, fake charities, bid rigging, using paid govt employees for campaigns
3. Sandusky - state college officials enable pedophile
3. porngate - judges sending each other lewd emails, discovered while investigating whether Penn State boosters influenced the governor (then AG) during the Sandusky investigation
4. Kathleen Kane - maniacally pursuing porngate punishment while paving her own road to jail because she leaked grand jury reports and intentionally failed to pursue charges on 4 democrat state lawmakers caught on tape taking bribes
5. Liquor Control Board execs getting bribes/benefits from vendors - a stupid scandal for a board that should not exist.
6. State Treasurer wore a wire trying to trap agencies working for the state... while preparing to plead guilty for extortion

I'm sure that I've missed a few. Please add your own.

A new Angel

Mimi and I learned just a short time ago that Lily Marie Bell went back to heaven today. Lily was born December 12, 2015. Her dad Chris was a former Villanova football player from the Wildcat class of 2004 who's since become a CPA and also earned his law degree from Villanova too. God bless Chris, his wife Brooke, and their entire extended family all of whom loved Lily so very much.

Championship Game Tickets - Distribution & Reimbursement - Update

I wish I had access to several hundred tickets to share them all with the board. I am trying to get more. The 60 tickets I have are accounted for. They are in excellent condition with authentic holograms on the back of each ticket. I received tickets in the 500 and 600 level. I will be able to match up sister tickets for those who asked for multiples. They will be in the same section, row and side by side seats.

The cost of the ticket including postage to reimburse me is $8.50. Postage includes a padded envelope to protect your piece of Nova history. Please open package with caution. You don't want to damage your ticket. If you ordered multiples. You only pay for shipping once. Each ticket is $5 plus one shipping charge of $3.50. You guys can do the math. I will start mailing tomorrow!

I prefer reimburse by Pay Pal. You can send money to a friend or family free of charge. Please use my email address. rnaugle6@comcast.net for Pay Pal.

If you can't use Pay Pal, please send a check to

NYC Steakhouse

I know there will be a lot of opinions on this, but I also know there are many many informed eaters here. Taking oldest boy to NYC for a little celebration to see Hamilton in a couple weeks. Need to find a pre-theater dinner spot. Steakhouse is his first choice, so that's what I'm asking for advice on near theater district. We're staying on Madison right next to the Cathedral. We're both also pretty adventurous eaters, so open to anything else that's a must try, but steakhouse is probably first choice. I know nothing of NYC, so that's my baseline. A friend suggested Gallaghers in that area. Thoughts?

One of the best parts about being the NFC...

...is that every time I see someone in UNC paraphernalia, I get a shit-eating grin on my face that can't go away.

Wore my Nova national champs polo to work. Guy I'm training at work graduated from UNC in 2015. You just can't wipe the smile off my face.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't help but grin every time I see UNC gear.

Championship Game Tickets - Update - 0 of 60 Tickets Left

I was able to get 60 authentic Championship Game Tickets. They are all in very good to excellent condition. No tears, rips or bends. The tickets are real game tickets. The original purchaser chose the flash ticket option at the time of purchase. All of these tickets have the authentic hologram on the back. The tickets are from random sections throughout NRG stadium. I would like to make these available to all board members. I paid $5 a piece for them. I don't want to make money. My cost plus postage to break even would be fine. These tickets are going for $20 to $30 bucks a piece on eBay. If you are interested in purchasing a piece of championship history, please send me an email at rnaugle6@comcast.net. It will be first come, first serve. I would like to limit it to 1 ticket per board member. This way more folks are able to get one if they want one. If the demand is not that great then I will expand it to multiple tickets per board member. THERE ARE 21 TICKETS REMAINING AS OF 9PM ON SUNDAY!

Thanks RobN
